Cathy Lewis is a prominent figure in education and community leadership, particularly within Schenectady, New York. She has served on the Schenectady City School Board for over a decade, holding the position of President from 2010 to 2017 and currently serving as Vice-President. Her contributions extend to her role as Area 7 Director for the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA), representing multiple counties including Schenectady, Albany, and Saratoga. Lewis is deeply involved in advocacy and governance for public schools, having chaired NYSSBA’s Resolutions Committee in 2016 and participated in the Title 1 Committee of Practitioners since the same year. Beyond her school board commitments, she has been active in the Capital District School Boards Association, where she served as president for several years.
