The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) is a regional examining body that provides a comprehensive suite of examinations and certification services within the Caribbean. Established in 1972 under agreement by participating governments, it contributes to the education sector by offering examinations at the secondary and post-secondary levels. Aiming to assure the global human resource competitiveness of the Caribbean, CXC initial focus was on syllabuses fostering learner-centred approaches and skills of analysis and critical thinking. The CXC's assessments range from primary level to secondary school exit level in academic and technical/vocational areas, with the exam papers marked by a team of regional and international examiners and moderators.
