Camara Municipal de Curitiba is the legislative body of the city of Curitiba, the capital of the Brazilian state of Paraná. It plays a fundamental role in the scrutiny of local government and administration of the city. The council consist of 38 councillors who propose, discuss and vote on laws for the development of the city. This democratic institution is housed in a modern edifice known as Palácio Rio Branco located at the heart of Curitiba. Along with the legislative functions, this municipal chamber also oversees the mayor's operations and fiscalizes government actions to ensure public interest is upheld.
