Stop Domino's Pizza Paying Below the "Minimum Wage"

Demand Wage Justice for Domino's Delivery Drivers. Please let Domino's know what you think about them paying below the minimum wage right here on their Facebook. Delivery Drivers for Domino's are paid below the award rate of pay and the "Minimum Wage". My 19 year old son was paid $14.51 per hour for 2 hours per day, plus $2.27 per delivery. He had to pay the cost of running his vehicle out of this $2.27. So per shift, he was paid after expenses about $30. Also a uniform fee was deducted from his pay and a car insurance fee was deducted from his pay totaling $14.46 per week! If he was paid the award wage he would work 3 hours at a payrate of $18.98 plus 41 cents per km for vehicle use. So he would earn after car running costs about $60. Domino's pay is about half of the award rate! Recently Domino's announced a 57% increase in profit, profit driven by this pathetic unfair pay rate! It's not like Domino's can't afford to pay more. This ability to underpay workers gives a commercial advantage to greedy and unscrupulous employers and penalises those employers who are paying the correct award rate. This practice has been going on for many years, in fact the drivers work under a workplace agreement from 2005, yes that's right, it is 12 years out of date!  It is degrading for young people to have to work for substandard pay. This is unacceptable in Australia. Demand that Domino's fixes this wage injustice now!

More Aussie Music

Please sign this petition to support Australian music. Currently, commercial radio and television stations in Australia play an average of less than 10% Australian music, while the internet is completely unregulated. More Australian music in the Australian media is vital to "developing and reflecting a sense of Australian identity, character and cultural diversity", as outlined in the Federal Broadcasting Act. The FTA (Australia US Free Trade Agreement) prevents the Australian government from setting the local quota higher than 25%, however, the FTA does not prevent the Australian Government from setting a minimum quota of 25% Australian compositions, singers, musicians, producers, studios, labels, publishers and distributors. More Australian music in the Australian media will: • revive the local recording industry • revive the live music industry • create stable employment for tens of thousands of musicians • create a booming music export market worth billions of dollars each year • keep music royalties in Australia worth hundreds of millions of dollars each year • increase inbound music tourism worth billions more The Australian Government will reinvigorate the Australian music industry by providing incentives for media to play a minimum 25% Australian music content, calculated hourly, that is composed, performed and produced by Australians in Australia with Australian labels, publishers and distributors, in all genres, in all media, including but not limited to radio, television, movies, theatre, orchestras, internet and live performances. If you feel strongly about Australian music, now is the time to stand up and do something!

Water and food security is being placed at risk here in Australia because governments continue to industrialise our agricultural land and allow the resources sector to pollute our surface and groundwater.  It is time to demand action not just on climate change, as action to protect our food bowls is also urgently needed.  We need a national food and water security policy.  Fracking gas and CSG projects are the biggest threat to a sustainable Australia because these projects pollute all surrounding water sources, including aquifers, contaminate air quality, soil and compromise the ability of landowners to produce clean food, as does conventional gas on prime agriculture land. With over 50% of prime production land in the NT and 2% in WA equating to a land mass the size of Tasmania, approved for fracking, as well as, CSG projects being approved in Queensland and NSW, along with conventional gas wells being drilled in the middle of prime agricultural land in SA, our national food and water security is being placed at risk.  One shale or tight gas well requires between 15 to 30 million litres of clean water over the life time of the well.  With 100s and 1000s of wells being planned for Australia, we simply don't have that kind of water to spare in the direst inhabited continent on the planet.  Well casing failure leads to water contamination, making water undrinkable and unsuitable for food production.  We simply can't afford this industry our water is too precious because all wells fail eventually.  A gas company in WA contaminated a water source with radiation and the recommended resolution from the gas company, was to feed the contaminated drinking water to livestock.  This is livestock that would have entered our food chain.  In Queensland CSG projects are compromising a farmer's ability to produce clean food for Australians because their water bores have either dried up or have been contaminated by nearby CSG projects. The UN Resolution 64/292....states, the United Nations General Assembly explicitly recognised the human right to water and sanitation and acknowledged that clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realisation of all human rights. The United Nations Charter defines democracy as “ a universal value based on the freely expressed will of people to determine their own political, economic, social and cultural systems and their full participation in all aspects of their lives” Our request is also supported by the United Nations Human Rights International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. PART I  Article 1 1.  “All peoples have the right of self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development”. PART III  Article 21. 3.  “The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government”.

The hiring of specialist trained Gender Surgeons in each Australian State and Territory

To the honourable members of the Australian Parliament,  I, Elizabeth Kazon, an Intersex Transgender Female, and my fellow LGBTQIA+ individuals, allies and supporters, call upon you to without delay hire surgeons within the Medicare public health system to perform sex reassignment surgeries, thus making these certified Life Saving Surgeries, affordable for all Transgender and Intersex Australians. Within Australia, Medicare pays a rebate for some Male to Female Sex Reassignment Surgeries and some Female to Male Sex Reassignment Surgeries, however as there isn’t the possibility to have these surgeries performed in the public health system, private surgeons have a virtual monopoly, making these necessary surgeries unaffordable for a majority of Transgender and Intersex individuals. Furthermore, advancements are being made in these surgeries, however there is no opportunity for the private surgeons to learn and use these new techniques as they are constantly backlogged with patients who have no alternatives. The approximate cost in Australia to have a Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty is $18’000 excluding aftercare, fights and accommodation. A new surgery, the Peritoneum Pull-Through Vaginoplasty has been pioneered and is being performed oversees for approximately $20’000-$40’000 USD. This cost is relatively affordable when compared to the $100’000+ payable to have Phalloplasty performed in Australia. These prices are unaffordable, and it should be offered within the public system. In addition, it is with great conviction that we also believe that breast enhancement, breast reduction, Buttocks enhancement and buttocks reduction should also be performed for those holding a valid Intersex or Transgender Diagnosis as such procedures have been proven to greatly improve Transgender and Intersex individuals’ mental health.  We the undersigned call upon you, the Australian Parliament, to without delay, put pressure on the individual states and territories to hire and train 1 specialist surgeon per capital city in Australia plus at least 4 specialist nurses to assist them. These surgeons collectively should be proficient in the following new and older techniques to meet the needs of the Transgender and Intersex Individuals of Australia: ·         Peritoneum Pull-Through Vaginoplasty, ·         Sigmoid Colon Vaginoplasty, ·         Penile Inversion Vaginoplasty, ·         Facial Feminization Surgery, ·         Voice Feminization Surgery, ·         Tracheal Shave, ·         Breast and Buttock Augmentation, ·         Mastectomy, ·         Hysterectomy, ·         Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy, ·         Metoidplasty, ·         Phalloplasty. Yours with hope,

Royal Commission -No More Bullying- Safe Workplaces for Australian Nurses & Midwives NOW!

Nurses and Midwives in Australia are frequently subjected to horrific bullying. What did they do to deserve it? Pointed out a patient safety issue most likely. Made a manager angry that they were called out or had to deal with something unpleasant. The bullying is systemic, toxic, ingrained, cruel and unethical. Those in power control, threaten, and create fear, then deny it is happening, and blame the target. The sequelae to all the mind-games, abuse of power, and unethical decision-making is psychological injury. Panic attacks, anxiety, depression, fear, hypervigilance, PTSD, are all symptoms of psychological injury. Suicide is the tragic outcome in some circumstances. We urge all Nurses and Midwives, Allied Health staff (incl Dr's) and members of the public to stand up and say NO MORE! No more dead or bullied health staff!  Work Health and Safety law needs to include compulsory standards specific to the education, treatment, discipline, and compliance to law in order to force Health employers to eradicate bullying. A Parliamentary inquiry was conducted into Bullying in 2012, but compliance via law was not achieved (due to Liberal party opposition). Therefore bullies are still getting away with it. SHAME AUSTRALIA! Work Cover law allows employers to bully using the 'reasonable management' clause. That needs to change! Psychological injury also needs to be treated the same as physical injury - and the claimant treated with specific care. As the law stands, it has a clause to exclude any claim of psychological damage to the complainant during the claim process. Basically they can behave as badly as they want without being held to account. Claimants have likened the process to be even worse than the original psychological injury. SHAME AUSTRALIA! Individual regions within state health departments have a 'duty of care' to provide safe workplaces, including psychological health, according to Work Health and Safety law. There are known pockets of management bullies within certain regions and they need to be exposed. We demand a Royal Commission into all state Health departments and Work Cover for their bullying behaviour because it is necessary to force participation and disclosure of information to one authority with the power to act. Stand with us and speak, even if your voice shakes! Don't let those words be rhetoric. Sign now.
