Bheki Cele

Bheki Cele is a prominent South African politician who has served in various high-ranking roles in the country's government. Born on April 22, 1952, in Umzumbe, KwaZulu-Natal Province, he originally trained as a teacher before entering politics. Over his career, he has been a Member of Parliament, KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, and the National Commissioner of the South African Police Service. Notably, he was appointed as the Minister of Police in February 2018. Known for his tough stance on crime, Cele is a long-standing member of the African National Congress, South Africa's ruling party.
