Axel Kicillof is an Argentine economist and politician. Born on September 25, 1971, he is a member of the Justicialist Party, a major political group in Argentina largely associated with Peronism. Kicillof is recognized for his work in public service, having served as the Minister of Economy of Argentina from 2013 to 2015 under President Cristina Kirchner. He is also notable for his role, since December 2019, as the Governor of Buenos Aires Province. Throughout his career, he has been an strong proponent of state-led economic policies and has strongly criticized neoliberal economic strategies. With a PhD in economics from the University of Buenos Aires, he has had a significant influence on the economic policies of his party and nation.
