Angus Stanley King Jr. is an American lawyer and politician who has been serving as the junior United States Senator from Maine since 2013. Born in 1944, King is known for his independent political stance, having also served as the 72nd Governor of Maine from 1995 to 2003. His diverse career spans roles as a businessperson, television presenter, and entrepreneur. King holds a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia Law School. His professional experiences include serving as Chief Counsel to U.S. Senator William Hathaway, founding an energy conservation company, and working as an attorney with Pine Tree Legal Assistance. King is recognized for his leadership in energy and environmental policy.
