ANEEL

The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) is a Brazilian governmental regulatory agency responsible for regulating and inspecting the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power in Brazil. Established in December 1996, ANEEL operates under the Ministry of Mines and Energy with the aim of ensuring affordable and uninterrupted power supply for consumers while promoting fair competition in the energy market. It also sets tariffs, enforces regulations, grants concessions and monitors the performance of energy companies to ensure consumer rights and environmental sustainability.
