Alaska State House

The Alaska State House is the state legislature's lower house for the U.S. state of Alaska. Found in the state's capital, Juneau, the house consists of 40 members who serve two-year terms, representing an equal amount of districts across the state. Modeled after the Nebraska Legislature, the Alaska House, along with the Alaska Senate, form a part of the longest-serving Republican dominated bicameral state legislature in the country. The house members are responsible for crafting and voting on legislation, with each bill requiring a majority vote to be sent to the governor for approval.
