Alan Baker is an Israeli expert in international law, diplomat, and lawyer. He served as Israel's ambassador to Canada and is the director of the Institute for Contemporary Affairs at the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs. Baker was a partner at the Tel Aviv law firm Moshe, Bloomfield, Kobo, Baker & Co. His career included roles as a military prosecutor and senior legal adviser in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and as a legal adviser in the Foreign Ministry. He played a significant role in negotiating peace treaties with Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Palestinians. In 2012, he was appointed to a committee by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to examine land ownership in the West Bank, resulting in the Levy Report. Alan Baker's educational background includes a Bachelor's in History from Auburn University, an Associate's degree from East Central Community College, and a high school diploma from T.R. Miller High School. He has also been involved in teaching at Phenix City and T.R. Miller High School, and served as a representative for District 66 in the Alabama House of Representatives.
