As all 27,500 of my fellow Lake Worth Electrical Utility Rate payers are aware of by now - The City Commissioners, earlier this years voted on - passed and instituted a Electrical Utility Rate increase that was Unexpected and Very Excessive! We the rate payers are confused and unclear as to why it was called to a vote and what the increase is funding. As individual owners of the co-operative Electrical Utility and Rate Payers - We feel we are entitled to and deserve a simple and rate payer friendly explanation as to the reason for this increase and how these funds collected from this Excessive Rate Increase are being utilized! The attached below Power Cost Adjustment was prepared and published by the Utility to explain how this cost is determined. As we all read it - the bottom line appears to be $4.93 per 1000 KWh per month! When in fact most of us were charged an additional $100 per month and many of us well over $200 per month! We are entitled to and demand an understandable explanation and accounting of the difference!
