Oppose Mercer Corporate Park Warehouses

The Issue

We the undersigned, oppose the incompatible warehouse development proposal at Mercer Corporate Park for the following reasons:

·        Increased truck and car traffic

·        Destruction of irreplaceable threatened and endangered species habitat and wetlands

·        Noise, air and light pollution impacts on nearby residential areas at all hours of the day and night

·        Truck traffic impacts on public safety, degradation of historic homes and municipal infrastructure along narrow streets with poor intersection geometry

·        Overnight truck parking on non-warehouse streets and in residential areas

·        Reduced residential property values

·        Lack of consideration as required by the Robbinsville Township Master Plan which states:  “Objective: Recognize the historic character, infrastructure, and special scale of Allentown in the planning of future development and future traffic movements in the southeastern corner of the community.”

Municipal Land Use Law provides:  Ensure that the development of individual municipalities does not conflict with the development and general welfare of neighboring municipalities, the county and the State as a whole; and promote the conservation of historic sites and districts, open space, energy resources and valuable natural resources in the State and to prevent urban sprawl and degradation of the environment through improper use of land;
