A Blast Quarry has already been permitted by the County and the State. We need to prevent any further Class III Heavy Industry to be permitted in Snow Camp.

Class III industries include Mining/Quarrying, Racetracks, Chemical Manufacturing, Asphalt Plants, Electricity Generating Facility (not including renewable sources) Landfills-except inert debris, Paper Mills, Cement Manufacturing.

The Alamance County Planning Department is in the late stages of developing a proposed Small Area Zoning Ordinance for Snow Camp. We want a complete restriction of all Class III industry be added to the ordinance.  This is now under consideration and we need to let them know there is widespread support from our residents.
