Save Davis Lane Park

The Issue

We, the residents of Arvada, cherish our local Davis Lane Park. It's a place where we walk multiple times a day, enjoy the beauty of nature and engage in community activities. The tennis/pickleball courts by Ralston Creek Trail and the playground are an integral part of this experience. These courts are frequently used and serve as a prime amenity for our community - a space where both young and old can come together.

However, we have recently learned about plans by the City of Arvada to destroy these beloved courts without any intention to replace them. This is not just about losing a recreational facility; it's about losing an essential part of our community fabric.

Moreover, we have witnessed with concern how cavalierly trees have been treated during recent park modifications - many huge cottonwoods were destroyed in another park close by. We fear similar disregard for nature during this project.

We therefore request access to the plan and profile for this project and demand an on-site meeting between representatives from our community and officials from City of Arvada to discuss alternatives that would preserve these amenities while still addressing any necessary updates or improvements.

The loss of these tennis/pickleball courts would be deeply felt within our community. Let's work together towards solutions that respect both our communal spaces and natural environment. Please sign this petition if you support preserving Davis Lane Park's tennis/pickleball courts and nature in the park, and  join us at City Hall in Arvada May 6th at 5:50 pm to appeal to the city.
