The issue

QRail & TMR want to resume our site for the "Wave" Rail project and upgrade to Beerwah Train Station. Their plan.......demolish our site and build a multi-story carpark!

We believe that a carpark is not worth the loss of over 50 jobs and massive disruption to the community through the loss of a major business like the Co-op.

Support us to Support You!

We don't want to stand in the way of progress!!

We want to be part of it!!!

We have been truly overwhelmed by the support within the community. It's clear that we're all in this together and we have SO MANY questions with the resounding message coming through : 'have all options been explored and is this truly the best option for ALL parties? Will the loss of the Co-op and the Shell servo and all that encompasses been factored in to the proposal?

What will this mean for Beerwah and the surrounding region as we know it? '

Your support means the world to us as we navigate this challenging time with our entire business site being resumed for the proposed rail network expansion.

Together, we can work toward a solution that benefits both our community and the future of public transport in our region.

Save Beerwah Co-op is dedicated to preserving our vital local business, established in 1936 and turning 90 years old soon.

We employ more than 50 locals and serve 30,000 customers every month, that's a whopping 360,000 customers a  year!

We are one of the largest employers in the area and many of the products and services we provide are not available anywhere else in town or in the near vicinity of the Glasshouse region.

  • Local historical business gone
  • 50 jobs gone
  • Local and Surrounding community members leaving the area for services no longer available
  • Major contributor to local clubs/schools/sports lost

FACEBOOK UPDATE -

Hi everyone,

We wanted to let you know that we're changing our FACEBOOK group to "Heart of Beerwah Action Group"

When we started this group, our focus was on the Co-op. But as we've learned more and heard from so many of you, we've realised that this issue is much bigger than just one business.

The proposed multi-level car park will impact our entire town and district – our local businesses, our community character, traffic flow, amenity, and the daily lives of everyone who live and work in Beerwah and the surrounding areas.

This name change reflects what this has always really been about: protecting Beerwah and our community's future.

And remember, we DO NOT want to stand in the way of progress, not at all!!! BUT we believe that there are far better options than the current one on the table i.e. build a 4 storey car park on the site that the Co-op and our Shell servo currently occupy.

The simple truth of the matter is - if the community had been consulted and given the opportunity for real feedback, we believe other options would be on the table.

Thank you all for your continued support and engagement and watch this space for details of an upcoming community meeting in January 2026.

Together, we're stronger. 🙏
