The Camarillo Airport is transitioning to greater numbers of jet aircraft. Jet and turboprops will grow from 12,000 flights/year currently to approximately 49,000 flights/year as projected in the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) forecasts, a 400% increase from current levels.

Noise, emissions, quality of life and home values will impact our community with this increase in jet traffic. Our elected representatives on the Camarillo City Council and the Board of Supervisors have a duty to prioritize and advocate for the health and safety of residents.  

We are calling on the City of Camarillo, the County of Ventura and the Dept. of Airports to complete the 150 Noise Study, an "Alternative Flightpath Analysis", and an emissions environmental report. 

It is reasonable and responsible that these studies be completed prior to submitting an Airport Layout Plan to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in order to identify alternatives and address the impacts of increased jet traffic on the Camarillo community.
