Say NO to the Arthurs Seat rollercoaster: State Park not Theme Park!

The issue

The State Park at Mornington Peninsula’s iconic Arthurs Seat (Wonga) is in grave danger.

Private developers are planning a roller-coaster-style luge as part of a massive tourism redevelopment.

A rollercoaster in a State Park? It’s beyond belief.

If we don’t defeat this ludicrous proposal, the precedent is set for open-slather private developments in ALL Victorian State Parks.

We need your help to say NO to private profits from public land.

Developers are proposing a $25 million expansion in a STATE PARK, which includes:

  • A roller coaster like luge up and down the hill, altering the natural landscape
  • An intrusive bridge over Arthurs Seat Road on Arthurs Seat Road
  • An 28 m high viewing platform
  • major redevelopment of the lower station

This expansion will increase landslide and erosion risks, impact native habitats, interrupt wildlife movement, disturb the tranquility cherished by locals and visitors, and increase traffic congestion around Arthurs Seat and Dromana.

It will also heighten fire risks and replace the park's natural charm with an urbanised look.

THIS IS URGENT: Please sign the petition to tell the Planning Minister to prioritise public land over private profits.
