The organizations, teachers, and families on this letter request that the early childcare workforce be prioritized in the allocation of the COVID-19 vaccinations among essential workers.

Vaccinating the early childcare workforce enables front-line workers to do their job.
The childcare workforce must be protected if they are to continue to support our essential health workers by providing childcare to their families of frontline workers.

Vaccinating the early childcare workforce protects vulnerable children.
We must protect those who care for our young children. Children under five are unable to socially distance and consistently wear masks making them an at risk population. 

Vaccinating the early childcare workforce helps families get back to work.
One survey showed 43% of families are struggling with care during the outbreak. Vaccinating the childcare workforce will ensure adequate staffing in childcare settings to remain open and allow families to work.
