Der Thai-Markt im Preußenpark in Berlin gehört seit über 30 Jahren zu Berlin. Er zeigt auf einzigartige Weise die kulturelle und auch kulinarische Vielfalt unserer internationalen Stadt.

Die neue Mehrheit aus CDU und BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN im Bezirksamt und
der Bezirksverordnetenversammlung von Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf will den Thaipark im Preußenpark nicht mehr. In der Zählgemeinschaftsvereinbarung steht: „Der Preußenpark wird als Park wiederhergestellt. Wir werden einen neuen Standort für den„Thai-Markt” möglichst in der näheren Umgebung finden.“

Damit soll der Thaipark raus aus dem Preußenpark, aber gerade die Lage im Grünen macht dessen Charme aus. Die Thai-Community hat bereits viel für die Koexistenz von Markt und Park getan und wir sind davon überzeugt, dass dies auch in Zukunft gelingen kann.  Der notwendige Umwelt- und Anwohnerschutz wurde auf den unterschiedlichsten durchgeführten Bürgerbeteiligungsveranstaltungen diskutiert und die Marktfläche bereits verkleinert.

Die SPD Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf unterstützt den Thaipark an seinem etablierten Platz und hat auch Bundes- bzw. Bezirksmittel für das wunderbar einzigartige Konzept organisiert.

The Thai Market in Berlin's Preußenpark has been part of Berlin for over 30 years. It shows in a unique way the cultural and also culinary diversity of our international city. The new majority of CDU and BÜNDNIS 90/DIE GRÜNEN in the district council (BVV) of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf no longer wants the Thai Park in the Preußenpark. Their recent coalition paper states: "The Preußenpark will be restored as a park. We will find a new location for the "Thai market" in the immediate vicinity if possible."

The clear intention is to get the Thai market out of Preußenpark, but it is the location that makes it so charming. The Thai community has already done a lot for the coexistence of market and park and we are convinced that this can also succeed in the future. The necessary environmental protection as well as measures to protect the neighborhood was discussed at various citizen participation events and the market area has already been seperated and significantly reduced.

The SPD Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf (the Social Democratic Party) supports the Thaipark at its established place and has also organized federal and state funds for this wonderful and unique concept.
