From 1971-1992 General Mills Monster Cereals were made from a blend of oat flour and corn meal. This gave the cereal a great flavor and texture that rivaled that of Lucky Charms in popularity and taste. General Mills cheapened the recipe to all corn in 1993 and the cereals are now very bland. 2021 marks the 50th anniversary of their release and fans have been asking for a return to the original recipe with oats to celebrate this milestone.
