Restore Hetch Hetchy to its Former Glory.

Restore Hetch Hetchy to its Former Glory.
The Issue
Yosemite National Park once included two spectacular glacier carved valleys - Yosemite Valley along the Merced River and Hetch Hetchy Valley along the Tuolumne River. These valleys, like all national parks, are to be protected "in perpetuity”. Today, Yosemite Valley is one of the world's most famous natural landscapes, and is a very popular destination for climbers, hikers or people who just want to stroll its meadows.
Hetch Hetchy Valley, however, lies buried under 300 feet of water and is inaccessible to park visitors.
John Muir, the man who not only fell in love with Yosemite Valley but this place is well, was sad and heart stricken in finding out that he lost a battle, in Saving this second (Yosemite Valley). Now the once-spectacular Hetch Hetchy Valley in Yosemite National Park is hidden under 300 feet of water. A twin to the famous Yosemite Valley, Hetch Hetchy Valley was flooded early last century, becoming a giant,billion-gallon water tank. Hetch Hetchy Valley can be restored while San Francisco and other communities keep their supply of electricity and pure water.
From 1901 - 1913, John Muir led the Sierra Club in a campaign to protect the Hetch Hetchy Valley, a part of Yosemite National Park, from being filled by a reservoir.
The battle for Hetch Hetchy was perhaps the first effort at what is now known as "grassroots lobbying," getting individual citizens to contact elected officials in support of or opposition to legislation.
John Muir wrote to his friend Robert Underwood Johnson:
"We held a Sierra Club meeting last Saturday--passed resolutions and fanned each other to a fierce white Hetch Hetchy heat. I particularly urged that we must get everybody to write to Senators and the president keeping letters flying all next month thick as storm snow flakes, loaded with park pictures, short circulars, etc. Stir up all other park and playground clubs, women's clubs, etc…”
We, the undersigned, agree with John Muir, the "Father of our National Parks," that Hetch Hetchy Valley in Yosemite National Park "is a grand landscape garden, one of Nature's rarest and most precious mountain temples." Therefore, we petition the Secretary of the Interior to support the restoration of Hetch Hetchy Valley.
Despite opposition from many citizens, including most of the nation's leading newspapers, Congress passed the Raker Act in 1913 allowing the city of San Francisco to destroy Hetch Hetchy. The City built a dam and reservoir, drowning this beautiful valley, even though other less-damaging sites existed.
It was the first time the young national park system had been so violated. Although the Sierra Club lost that battle, the loss of Hetch Hetchy served to awaken the nation in defense of its national parks. Remembering the loss of Hetch Hetchy, in the 1950s and 1960s, the Sierra Club successfully stopped dams from being built in Dinosaur National Monument and in Grand Canyon National Park.
Let us never forget what happened here. The Sierra Club today still holds fast to the words William Colby wrote to Gifford Pinchot in 1909 with reference to Hetch Hetchy:
"Let me assure you that we have only begun to fight, and we are not going to rest until we have established the principle 'that our National Parks shall be hold forever inviolate,' and until we have demonstrated to the satisfaction of every one, including yourself, that the American people stand for that principle. We are going to keep up the good fight without fear or favor, 'if it shall take until doomsday.'
When President Woodrow Wilson signed the Raker Act in 1913, he permitted San Francisco to clear-cut, dam and flood Hetch Hetchy. It remains the only time in our history that a single city has been allowed to appropriate one of our national parks for its own exclusive use.
Studies show the Hetch Hetchy can be restored and that San Francisco can improve its water system so that its Tuolumne River supplies can be stored downstream of Yosemite. The City is unwilling, however, to consider making any changes.
My best idea to bring water for the San Francisco Area and bring back the valley. Is to build and install Desalination Plants, along the States Coastline and Sacramento River.
https://www.bbe-moldaenke.de/en/products/applications/desalination-plants.html
With giant size versions of this.
https://www.karawater.com/
Or instead of using Cherry Lake and Lake Elsinore as it’s emergency supply, just use the two lakes as San Francisco County's source of water and bring Hetch Hetchy back to life.
(VIDEO) https://youtu.be/eX7lH1QJvxE?si=Xa8iRNIFriQg0HQs&t=361
Yosemite belongs to all of us, not just one city. Hetch Hetchy Valley should be restored for the enjoyment of all.
Please support the restoration of Hetch Hetchy, and work cooperatively with San Francisco to make the water system improvements that are necessary to make it possible.
Together, we can make Yosemite whole again.

It needs to have 2023 rooms, as a way to Mark the 100th anniversary of when Construction of O'Shaughnessy Dam completed.
Something like this.
It also needs to have 175 Cottages, because the number 75 in 175, marks the age when John Muir lost the battle in trying to save Hetch Hetchy originally.
All the Cottages will be in five clustering groups of 35. One group will have one bedroom, the next one will have two bedrooms, then three bedrooms, then four bedrooms and finally five bedrooms.
The location for the Lodge and Cottages, will be as close as possible to the Southeastern tip of the valley. So you won't see the lodge right in the main part of the valley, as a way to keep the valley as it was when John Muir was in, where no buildings were built on it yet.

Also, there will be a fourth Gondola line, for the TUOLUMNE TRAMWAY. That takes you from the THE JOHN MUIR HOTEL, to the (TUOLUMNE TRAMWAYS Valley Central Station) and back. For it to go straight to the station, where it will be on the grounds of the hotel itself, or it can have a slight angle along its route.
And it is named the Miwok Paiute line.
There are three Options, from Short to Long.

The Final Thing, is to build a HETCH HETCHY MUSEUM. That celebrates the history and Legacy of the valley, filled with Hand-On Displays & Exhibits and Interactive Media. Including elevators that go up and down several floors of the museum, that need to have a thrilling and immersive like experience, based on these ones that are used for the One World Trade Center Observatory.
(VIDEO) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILbcWgP76vA
Including the Original Full-Length Walkway of the O'Shaughnessy Dam, and the underground O'Shaughnessy Dam Tunnel that takes you to the Wapama Falls trail.

Which will be rerouted when the valley is fully restored.
The building needs to look something like this like this.
The Beginning of the Museum Experience needs to have a Pre-Show Experience. Based off the same one at the Space Shuttle Atlantis Experience at Kennedy Space Center.

Which you end up looking out of a Massive Wide Six-Story Floor-To-Ceiling Window Wall.
There also needs to be, five ride experiences.
First, a triple Sunkid Interactive Climbing and Rocking Towers, to help simulate what it's like to climb trees.

I hope you love these fine ideas of mine, that I would like to see come through full fruition. When the valley is officially and fully restored.
THANK YOU… AND LETS RESTORE THE THIS PLACE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.
