In 1995, Warner Bros. released Batman Forever, directed by Joel Schumacher. While the theatrical version became a box office success, fans and cast members have spoken for years about a darker, more emotional original cut of the film, commonly known as the “Schumacher Cut.”

This unreleased version reportedly contains:

Over 40 minutes of deleted footage
Expanded psychological themes surrounding Bruce Wayne’s trauma
A more serious tone closer to Schumacher’s original vision
Additional scenes involving Val Kilmer, Nicole Kidman, Tommy Lee Jones, and Jim Carrey
Character moments and storylines cut for runtime and merchandising reasons
In recent years, audiences have shown strong support for preserving and restoring original filmmaker visions. The release of alternate cuts has proven there is real demand for these projects from both longtime fans and new audiences.

The Schumacher Cut is not just a “deleted scenes” compilation. It is an important piece of superhero film history and a chance to properly recognize Joel Schumacher’s artistic vision and legacy.

We are asking  Warner Bros. Discovery to:

Officially acknowledge the existence of the Schumacher Cut
Restore and remaster the film if necessary
Release it on streaming, physical media, or as a special event presentation
Allow fans to experience Batman Forever as it was originally intended
Joel Schumacher deserves to have his full vision seen.

Fans deserve the opportunity to decide for themselves.
