Victorio Peak

One family has been fighting for over 70 years to recover what they say is rightfully theirs - a $28 billion treasure buried deep inside a mountain in the New Mexico desert. Some believe the U.S. Government stole the 16,000 gold bars and priceless artifacts.

In 1937, Doc and Babe Noss stumbled upon thousands of gold bars, jewelry and coins hidden in a cavern within the walls of Victorio Peak in New Mexico. While attempting to excavate the treasure, an unfortunate accident sealed the only entrance to the cavern. Before it could be reopened, the government annexed the land for White Sands Missile Range, forcing the family to relocate from the Peak.

Questions surrounding Victorio Peak have haunted the Noss family ever since. Today, Doc and Babe's grandson, Terry Delonas shoulders the weight of his family's incredible discovery of a potential fortune sealed underground. Immediately after the family's relocation from Victorio Peak, reports began to surface of others, including rogue government agents, pilfering the Peak and taking the gold bars, leading to lawsuits, illegitimate claimants, and clues pointing all the way to the White House. Driven to find the treasure that many believe is still there, Terry has been a thorn in the U.S. Government's side for the last 50 years, unrelenting in his pursuit for answers and access to the mountain. Alongside Terry has been filmmaker Alex Alonso, documenting every minute of the quest - from the hallowed halls of the US Capitol to caverns deep inside the mountain. Together, they have amassed an extensive trove of footage, photographs, and documents dating all the way back to the 1930s.

Featuring first-person and present-day interviews paired with never-before-seen archival footage, including images of the treasure, the premium documentary series unpacks the events from Doc and Babe Noss' discovery in 1937 to Terry mounting a massive expedition in the 1990s, while revealing eyewitness accounts, murder, an alleged government cover-up, a connection to the Watergate hearings, multiple US presidents, and much more. With billions in gold still at stake, the true story of Victorio Peak is finally being told.

Now, for the first time ever, the family and its supporters reveal exclusive evidence to prove their case and crack open the mystery of America's greatest treasure story. The truth of Victorio Peak has never been told... until now. From Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Archie Gips' Unrealistic Ideas, the company behind the Emmy-nominated hit series McMillions, the six-part docuseries GOLD, LIES & VIDEOTAPE premieres on Friday, January 13 at 9:00PM ET/PT on Discovery Channel and will be available to stream the same day on discovery+.
