We oppose the construction of the aquarium as announced by the Tokyo headquarters of the Yomiuri Shimbun, the Yomiuri Giants, and Yomiuri Land.

Many of the creatures on display at aquariums and zoos are individuals that were forcibly removed from the natural world.

We believe that a healthy global environment can only be realized when living creatures are nurtured in their natural habitats and fulfill their lives.

With policies prohibiting the use of animals spreading around the world, the construction of new aquariums and zoos is a major departure from global standards and a symbolic example of a lack of ethics and a low level of education.

We demand the following actions from the Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo Headquarters, the Yomiuri Giants, Yomiuri Land, and Inagi City.

1. Abolish the construction of the aquarium based on the display of living creatures.

2. Immediately abolish the animal shows currently held at Yomiuriland.

3. Inagi City, Tokyo, shall not build any new aquarium or zoo in the future.
