On 28 February 2026, the Shajareh Tayyebeh Girls’ School in Minab was struck during a military operation, resulting in the deaths of at least 168 individuals, most of them children aged 7 to 12.

This tragedy has deeply shaken the educational community. The United Nations Human Rights Council has recently condemned this attack. Formal appeals addressing this incident have been sent to the United Nations and its relevant bodies.

We, the undersigned, call upon the international community to:

Publicly reaffirm the protection of children and schools during armed conflict
Support an independent and transparent international investigation
Ensure accountability where violations of international law are established
Schools must never become targets of violence.

We invite educators and concerned individuals around the world to stand in solidarity and support this call.

في ٢٨ فبراير ٢٠٢٦، تعرّضت مدرسة شجرة طيبة للبنات في ميناب لقصف خلال عملية عسكرية، مما أسفر عن مقتل ما لا يقل عن ١٦٨ شخصًا، معظمهم من الأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين ٧ و١٢ عامًا.

لقد هزّت هذه المأساة المجتمع التعليمي بعمق. وقد أدان مجلس حقوق الإنسان التابع للأمم المتحدة هذا الهجوم مؤخرًا. كما تم إرسال مذكرات رسمية بشأن هذه الحادثة إلى الأمم المتحدة والهيئات التابعة لها.

نحن الموقّعين أدناه ندعو المجتمع الدولي إلى:

إعادة التأكيد علنًا على حماية الأطفال والمدارس أثناء النزاعات المسلحة
دعم إجراء تحقيق دولي مستقل وشفاف
ضمان المساءلة في حال ثبوت انتهاكات للقانون الدولي

يجب ألا تتحول المدارس أبدًا إلى أهداف للعنف.
