Unify Libertarian Parties and Organizations in the USA under One Banner

The Issue

As an ardent believer in libertarian values and a registered member of the Libertarian Party since I turned 18, I have seen firsthand the debilitating effects of division and internal conflict within the movement. Despite sharing a common commitment to pro-market, tolerance, and antiauthoritarian principles, libertarian organizations across the U.S have fractured over time. This fracturing comes as a result of bad faith infiltration and opposition from within, leaving the Libertarian Party, (the third largest party), nearly bankrupt. Today, we face a reality where stand-alone libertarian organizations and parties, including at least three multi-state entities, vie for limited resources while promoting similar ideals of freedom. The impact is plain to see, with limited progress made despite a rich trove of resources, ambition, and dedication.

In addition to the ideological discord, the power duopoly between Democrats and Republicans has only served to restrict voices from the libertarian movement, stifling its influence and siphoning vital rights and resources without adequate resistance. This needs to change.

We call upon all libertarian political organizations and parties in the United States to unify under one banner. I have investigated several possible candidates for coalition that meet the criteria for big tent libertarianism:

  • The Libertarian Party
  • Liberal Party USA
  • United States Pirate Party
  • Legal Marijuana Now Party
  • American Capitalist Party
  • The United States Marijuana Party
  • Approval Voting Party
  • Transhumanist Party

Inspired by the Forward Party’s strategy for growth, I believe that by pooling our resources and consolidating our grassroots movements, we can fortify our activism, enable strategic political advancement, and propel libertarian principles into the forefront of American politics. Let us transform ideas and ideals into tangible progress by standing together, not apart. Sign this petition, and let's join hands to create a united and effective libertarian movement.
