Indiana's Outdated Cannabis Laws: Why We Demand Change Now"
The Issue
Are you tired of waiting for the medication you critically need? Are you tired of risking your safety by crossing state borders to get the medicine that can ease your pain? Why are people still being arrested for using a plant that has proven to be an effective treatment option? These questions have been asked for too long, and the time for change is now.
It's time to admit that the war on drugs has failed. It's time to start fighting for our right to use the medicine we need, without the risk of addiction and terrible withdrawals. It's time for the government to stop shunning us from the remedies we deserve.
Many states across the United States have already legalized marijuana for recreational and medical use, and the trend is spreading. Yet, citizens in Pennsylvania are still unable to access medical marijuana, even though they are permitted to get drunk at a bar. It doesn't make sense, and it's time for things to change.
We need to demand that our lawmakers listen to us and take action. Marijuana tax revenues can be used to fund essential social services and programs such as education, school construction, early literacy, public libraries, bullying prevention, behavioral health, alcohol and drug treatment, veterans' services, conservation, job training, conviction expungement expenses, and reinvestment in communities that have been disproportionately affected by the war on cannabis.
We deserve better, and we need to demand change. The cannabis reform bills introduced during the 2021 legislative session did not receive a hearing before their respective deadlines. It's time to push for cannabis policy reform once again in the 2022-2023 legislative session.
Join the movement for change by signing this petition to demand that Indiana's cannabis laws be updated to reflect the needs of the people. Let's make our voices heard, and let's demand change now!
We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to invite you to join us in making our voices heard at the Indiana State House in support of cannabis legalization. Our goal is to gather as many supporters as possible and demand that our lawmakers listen to the people they represent.
As you may know, several cannabis reform bills were introduced during the 2021 legislative session, but unfortunately, none of them received a hearing before their respective deadlines. This is unacceptable, and we need to demand change.
We believe that marijuana tax revenues can be used to fund essential social services and programs, such as education, school construction, early literacy, public libraries, bullying prevention, behavioral health, alcohol and drug treatment, veterans' services, conservation, job training, conviction expungement expenses, and reinvestment in communities that have been disproportionately affected by the war on cannabis.
We cannot do this alone. We need your help to make this protest a success. We encourage you to sign our petition and share it with your friends and family. Let's show our lawmakers that there is overwhelming support for cannabis legalization in Indiana.
There is no set date for the protest yet, but we will keep you updated as we plan. In the meantime, we ask that you comment on this post if you would be willing to join us in this fight. We want to show our lawmakers that we are a force to be reckoned with.
Thank you for your support, and we hope to see you at the State House.
- How much longer must we wait? Why must we risk ourselves, crossing state borders, just to get the medication we critically need? Why are we still arresting people over a plant?
- The war on drugs has failed ladies and gentlemen! We are fighting a constant battle to get the medication we need, the actual medication we need; without the terrible withdrawals. Highly addictive drugs are being shoved down our throats when there are clear alternatives! The government knows this, so why are we the people being shunned from these remedies?
- The United States is slowing moving towards a recreational stance in legislation, we have seen legalization work in countless countries and states.
- Listen, Marijuana is more of a remedy for humans than any of the trash doctors are prescribing. Pennsylvania citizens with a permit to carry can not access medical marijuana, yet they can get drunk at a bar. Pennsylvania, these laws don’t make sense!
I am tired of seeing my friends get addicted to pills that doctors prescribed them for an ailment that shouldn’t be remedied by addictive pills.
Indiana marijuana reform started this petition to Indiana State House and 4 others.
Marijuana policy reform is sweeping the Midwest. Both Indiana’s neighbor to the north, Michigan, and its neighbor to the west, Illinois, have legalized marijuana for adult use. And, Ohio, our eastern neighbor, has a comprehensive medical marijuana program.
****marijuana tax revenues*****
CAN BE USED for social services and programs funding education, school construction, early literacy, public libraries, bullying prevention, behavioral health, alcohol and drug treatment, veterans’ services, conservation, job training, conviction expungement expenses, and reinvestment in communities that have been
disproportionately affected by the war on cannabis.
WE DEMAND CHANGE!
We will demand to hear something besides "there has not been enough testing".
WE DEMAND CHANGE.!!!!
During the 2021 legislative session, several cannabis reform bills were introduced, including legislation that would have legalized and regulated cannabis for adults. Unfortunately, none of these bills received a hearing before their respective legislative deadlines. Now, the effort to reform Indiana’s outdated......
Cannabis laws shifts to 2022-2023....
WE DEMAND CHANGE!
