Kochi (COK) to Singapore (SIN) airline route is grippingly demanded by NRI’s,tourists from abroad and India , business travellers as well as transit passengers to Asia Pacific ,East Asia. This route was dominating by foreign airlines since 2 decades ago while no Indian airlines flying nonstop from Kochi to Singapore. The route was served by Silkair (Presently Singapore Airlines) and Scoot, however Scoot has transferred the service to its parent airline SIA 6 months ago which created a deep hole in the pocket of common people and budget travellers. The monopoly of Singapore Airlines thrashed the competition in fares, hence upsetting the tourism industry severely.

Currently Air India Express flying Kochi to Singapore via Madurai ( 3weekly) and Bangalore( 4 weekly) . But the stopover at these airports and the timing of the flights is troubling the passengers. Air India Express can start a 4 weekly direct flights to Singapore ( Mon,Wed,Fri,Sun) to seal the opening created by Scoot and consider departing Kochi at 8pm and from Singapore at 3.30am otherwise any other time where the flying time to fitted in the night .

The route can be deployed as Kannur-Kochi-Singapore as well , as there are no direct connections available to south east asia from Malabar region. Air India express can draw passengers from nearby airports to take this connection to Singapore via Kochi to make it economically sustainable. This is an earnest appeal for Air India Express to consider this request from a large group of frequent travellers on this route.
