On August 17, 2015, San Jose Police killed community member Richard "Harpo" Jacquez in front of his cousin's home. Harpo had no weapon but was shot five times in the back. At the time, Harpo was the fourth police killing in a span of eight days. Harpo’s family and friends knew him as a loving and present father, son, brother, cousin, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Officer Jacob Morris trains other officers even though he said in trial that he threw his training out the window when he ran over Harpo with his vehicle going 25-35mph and shot him from behind. Two years after this incident, officer Morris shot and killed another San Jose resident in May of 2017.

Jacob Morris should not be patrolling our neighborhoods & communities. He is a repeat shoot-to-kill officer. The city of San Jose & SJPD are complicit with this pattern of behavior and must change their protocol to not allow officers like him to continue working in our city or anywhere else - NOT promote them to sergeant like they did with officer Morris.

Please sign and share our petition and help us bring awareness to the victims of Jacob Morris.
