Following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Russian born speedway riders Emil Sayfutdinov and Artem Laguta were banned by the FIM from competing in the Speedway World Championship. 

Both riders have lived with their families in Poland for many years prior to this ban. Both have Polish citizenship since before the war. In Emil's case for around 15 years before the war started, and in Artem's case since April 2020. 

The FIM argue that maintaining this ban will have an impact on the course of the war, and speed up the end of this terrible situation. In reality, the two things are completely unconnected and it is totally discriminatory to bar sportspeople based on their birth passport. 

This petition argues that they should be allowed to compete as neutral athletes under the AIN banner, in a similar way to tennis stars competing under the same AIN banner (Individual Neutral Athlete).
