The Issue

We demand urgent action and accountability for the tragic deaths of six political prisoners illegally detained at Kot Lakhpat Jail, Pakistan, following their unjust imprisonment after a false flag operation carried out by the Pakistan military on May 9th, 2023.

These young men were simply exercising their fundamental human right to freedom of speech and peaceful protest in support of Pakistan’s largest political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Their only crime was standing up for democracy and dissenting against military-backed repression.

It is unacceptable for individuals to die in custody, especially under preventable conditions, such as Hepatitis. The health and safety of all prisoners must be guaranteed, and transparent medical tests should be allowed to determine the extent of the spread of this disease within the prison.

Join the Call for Justice:

  • Immediate international intervention to investigate the deaths of six political prisoners and hold the Pakistani regime and Punjab authorities accountable for their negligence and lack of medical care.
  • Conduct transparent, independent medical tests from certified labs for all detainees in Kot Lakhpat Jail, ensuring full access to medical treatment.
  • Immediate release of all political prisoners held under false pretenses and subjected to illegal military trials.
  • Launch a formal UN investigation into the illegal detention of civilians following the May 9th, 2023 incident and ongoing human rights violations.
  • Sanctions and accountability measures for officials responsible for the repression of peaceful protests and unlawful incarceration.
