Demand an Investigation of the Widespread Democratic Primary Election Rigging

It has been widely reported over the course of these last weeks that the moderate wing of the Democratic Party is actively engaging in electioneering, election rigging, fraud, and voter suppression against progressive Bernie Sanders and other progressive candidates. Reports of these incidents are numerous and have been been pervasive in almost every primary state. Issues include but are not limited to: Excessive waiting time to vote ( often as much as 8 hours), sudden moving of polling locations without sufficient notice, voters being purged from rolls for no apparent reason, voters being refused or denied ballots, votes being changed by machines that are “malfunctioning”, a shortage of voting machines and polling places, electioneering at polling places, delegates being assigned in caucuses in ways that benefit Bernie's opponents, disappearance of ballots and thumb drive data, votes being tallied without all of the data, huge discrepancies between exit polling and actual vote totals, failure to count and certify votes in states that are thought to favor Bernie Sanders, etc. The DNC made it very clear at the outset of this race that they would do everything they could to stop Bernie Sanders from becoming the nominee, up to rigging the process against him and forcing a contested convention with a second ballot of super delegates if necessary. Presently they appear to be pulling out all the stops in order to achieve that end. At a time when our country needs a fair election, perhaps more than ever, we are asking that your foundation please lead the way in bringing this malfeasance to light.

Petition to Q Residential, Margaret Herd, Rideau Towers, Mayor's Office, City of Toronto

I support a Don Valley restorative plan to fix widespread dumping of waste by apartments.

One of the most beautiful and unique places in Toronto is under threat. The Don Valley, and the immense trail system within it, has been a dumping ground for trash for many years but now has reached a crisis point. Open dumping of household waste from apartment buildings edging Thorncliff Park Drive facing the ravines is causing a massive wasteland and polluting the Don river downstream. The Don Valley needs to be restored to what it was meant to be: a wildlife refuge and recreational space for hikers, bikers, runners, paddlers and other nature enthusiasts. A restorative action plan and funding are needed from the great city of Toronto in collaboration with Thorncliff Park residential properties to restore and maintain this vital green space, and prevent further abuse of the valley.Thank you for supporting our initiative! http://www.dontmesswiththedon.cahttps://www.facebook.com/dontmesswiththedon/https://www.instagram.com/dont_mess_with_the_don/

Petition to Hon Patty Hajdu, The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau

Trudeau we need widespread COVID-19 testing in Canada ASAP

It seems to be policy in Canada that we are accepting the fact that there is community spread of COVID-19 and that the way to deal with it is social isolation or if you are sick, self quarantine at home. With this approach Canada is NOT testing widely. A four prong approach: 1) social distancing, 2) mass testing,  3) quarantine in  designated facilities and 4) contact tracing has worked in other countries to flatten the curve.  See data:https://graphics.reuters.com/HEALTH-CORONAVIRUS-GROWTH/0100B5KL438/index.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR1naj4J60BkLEiBNY6JQuUj-HZ8BR2MwQwGqzXHUgo2N9QcIFniYq2Lo8w The issue with the current approach in Canada is that due to limited testing we do know the numbers of people who have COVID-19 through community spread.  Due to lack of testing people who are sick and do not know it will go out to get essentials or ignore social isolation or quarantine recommendations and pass it on to others. As such, friend groups and family groups self isolating together will pass COVID-19 to each other, creating clusters. Due to lack of testing contact tracing and quarantine can not be done as we do not have a clear picture in Canada of who has COVID-19. We as well will not know who has had it without complications and recovered; a group that could potentially be mobilized in support roles. Please follow sound data showing that increased testing on a mass scale needs to be mobilize ASAP.

    Widespread Testing for COVID19

Mobile health units should be testing every person in this country right now. If we knew those exposed the unwell can isolate/get care and support and the healthy could work and help others.

Extend Widespread UPenn Student COVID-19 Testing Throughout the Entire Semester

Starting September 14th, COVID-19 testing will be limited to only symptomatic individuals identified by Penn Open Pass, and select asymptomatic individuals with known exposure. According to a survey conducted by the Daily Pennsylvanian, out of 906 undergraduate respondents, the average trust rating in the Campus Compact crafted by the Penn administration is a 2.61 out of 5. In order for students to ensure their safety this semester students should be able to get tested, regardless of the reason, throughout the entire semester. Extended testing will help reduce spreading, especially in the winter months, when people will be forced to put themselves in an uncomfortable position and take the risk of seeing others indoors if testing is not widely available. While not being able to ensure one's own safety may deter some people from meeting with others if people cannot get tested beforehand, this will not be the case for everyone, and cases will inevitably go up more than they need to if these extra testing options are not in place.  The same Daily Pennsylvanian survey stated that 80% of all seniors, 74% of all juniors, and 79% of all sophomores reported that they would be returning to campus on August 3rd. While these numbers may have fluctuated since the announcement that only select students are able to live on-campus, the majority of juniors and seniors returning is unlikely to differ much due to the large number of upperclassmen that live off-campus. In addition, there has since been a large number of sophomores and even some freshmen who signed off-campus leases after finding out that they would no longer be able to live on-campus. Making students live off-campus this semester was meant to encourage people not to come back to campus, but this is simply not the case. Extra testing needs to be widely available to ensure the safety of all students living off-campus in Philadelphia, and to enable students to meet up with others responsibly.

    Petition to Ashburn Farm Association

Rid Ashburn Farm of widespread Glyphosate pesticide use.

As the parent of a small child and a pet owner I’m deeply concerned by the spraying of pesticides within our community. It is my understanding that Glyphosate, a pesticide/herbicide commonly found in products such as Roundup, is what they are using to treat the common area lawns and trails.  There is plenty of very recent evidence showing that exposure to Glyphosate can greatly increase your risk of certain cancers, including Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.  Over two dozen countries and many states, counties, provinces and cities have gone as far as to ban the use of Glyphosate altogether based on EPA warnings. Additionally as product information states to wait for sprays to dry before being exposing to treated areas, studies have shown this is not exactly the case and exposure to residue is also potentially hazardous.  Despite signs to stay off the area sprayed, where are the animals suppose to go to the bathroom? Where are our children supposed to play (runoff can very easily spread to playgrounds and sidewalks)? Our yard spaces and trails are a huge draw to this neighborhood.  We have to protect them! We have an active and very healthy dog that was recently diagnosed with cancer and I can’t help but wonder if there’s a link. From my research there seems to be a link in this chemical and cancer rates among humans. Please join me in signing a petition to use Earth-friendly pesticides/herbicides within our community.
