My daughter, Jordan, started asking me why her dolls don't look just like her when she was four years old. We had just purchased her first Bitty Baby from Chicago's American Girl Store. She had a matching outfit. They had the same hair color.
The problem? Jordan was born with one hand and she has always wanted one of her American Girl dolls to look just like her. For now, that is not possible. Limb difference parents from across the country have requested the consideration for a custom limb-different doll. Each time, the company replies with a "no."
I applaud American Girl for releasing a diabetes kit as an accessory in 2016. I would love to see the company continue to expand ways to help more girls feel like they really have a "Truly Me" doll.Read more
I must preface this change.org petition by stating that I do not have any bias from a product value standpoint against any country producing goods and/or services for the United States market. I also do not have any bias against people purchasing from other countries, or from companies that have international presence. My main goal is to "illuminate" what is coming from United States efforts, and to offer a choice where we purchase from.
My hope that Amazon will provide, at the very least, a sort criteria that allows a customer to choose "US manufacturers". There is plenty of room for cheating, but my hope is that will not happen. We have to have hope right?
My underlying goal is primarily to get people to work in the US, and encourage investment in US companies, at least in a manner comparable to how we utilize other countries to produce our goods, not to exclude other countries, as my heart is for all people.
There is also a secondary goal which is to indirectly bring awareness to the fact that we here in America are largely ignorant to how production in other countries has environmental effects far beyond (possibly) the financial.
Beyond this very basic petition, please research what is happening to water supplies and workforce conditions in other countries that do not have the same environmental and worker protections that we work toward here in the U.S.A.

Petition to Members of Parliament, Prime Minister, General public, COPD Clinics, doctors
As i have COPD and belong to a site with people in the same boat as i am, but the general public is unaware of the condition, not enough is known about the Disease/Illness, and also the other illnesses that are part of COPD, there is much known about Cancer and mental illnesses but nothing to make people more aware of COPD, there are centres set up called REHAB where those who suffer from COPD can go, these centres help people to do minimal exercises at there own pace and it last for about nine weeks, you learn about Exasberations, part of having COPD, what causes these and how you can treat it with medication, what to eat and how much, what do at different stages of infection, what happens when you have to go to hospital, and what to expect. There is no cure for COPD but Cancer can be cured, so more needs to be done to look into this Disease and find some way of helping those who suffer from it, it is a worldwide condition, people think various reason why they have COPD and it seems smoking is the worst reason, however it isn't just smoking as some with COPD have never smoked, so it really needs more examination of the cause, We need to make the Government more aware and ask them to put money into investigating this killer disease so that more can be done to help COPD sufferers.

My name is Shelley Wells and I am a family friend of a young boy called Alfie. Please take a moment to read his story:
Alfie is a 17 year old from Ashford, Middlesex who is currently battling Neuroblastoma Cancer for the 3rd time.
Neuroblastoma is a terrible cancer that affects babies and children. Cancer cells form in the nerve tissues of the adrenal gland, neck, chest or spinal cord. Neuroblastoma is the third most common childhood cancer - it’s the same cancer that Bradley Lowery lost his life to.
Alfie has been battling this on and off since the age of 5. Doctor’s have said that a new treatment, called antibody therapy, is the best chance Alfie has of beating the cancer once and for all.
Unfortunately the NHS will not pay for the treatment. It currently costs around £600,000 for this treatment.
That’s why I have started this petition calling on the NHS to pay for, or at least subsidise antibody treatment for people like Alfie.
Currently the therapy is only available on the NHS to Cancer patients who have not relapsed. But Alfie hasn’t tried the treatment before and may not have relapsed if he had had access to it.
We desperately need help to spread Alfie’s story and help raising the necessary funds to give Alfie the best chance of overcoming this terrible disease. Alfie is an amazing boy, who should be going to school, out with his friends and playing football but sadly at this moment in time this is not possible.
He is an incredible young man who has been fighting this disease for too long. Lets help him get the chance to live.

Support the albany high girls track team as we protest the gender biased dress code. The athletic administration staff is attempting to exclude us from our sport as a result of the misinterpretation of the dress code. We’re being punished for practicing in sports bras in the presence of male coaches, while the boys team was asked nicely to put shirts back on and was not punished.Read more
