On April 26, 2020 the HRD ministry & also our state govt. (The Govt. of Odisha) announced that there would be no exams for +3 first and second year students with giving a clear instruction that the exams of +3 & P.G. final year students will be held anyhow ! I really don't find any difference in this, if this can done with our juniors, why not with us ?
With India having nearly 200k cases at present, and being ranked 7th in the world in terms of numbers of COVID-19 cases, I really don't find my exams more important than my life. Not only me, I am putting out this petition after many of my friends in the college whatsapp group had the same opinion.
In Odisha, in the college where I study, it being one of the top govt. institutions of the state, students come from different parts of Odisha & as of now everyone is at their home and we don't know if anyone of them has a disease or may be they will have it when they come to appear the exams, even they might be asymptomatic. Even some come from outside the state, and at a time when we don't trust our near and dear ones and are staying away from them, we can't risk our lives for the sake of exam.
Hence, I am asking the State education department of Odisha to follow the footsteps of its Maharashtra counterpart and kindly cancel the examination of all final year students while keeping the option of sitting for the examination on a later date for those who remain dissatisfied with the aggregate results.Read more
