Blood bikes Britain in 2017 had 3,372 volunteers, 31 member groups and did 73,617 runs.

Nigerian youths are so enthusiastic about learning a vocation. And this is the only way out of our present unemployment menace.
I once read in National dailies as far back as 2001, that Federal Government spends over a million naira on each corp member every year. It is then logical to think how a million naira could benefit our lives after service instead of the government spending so much yet with nothing to show for it after service.
This is the genesis of the National Youth Skill Commission. The aim is that this initiative will pique the interest of a member of legislative arms, who would help to sponsor it as a bill.
The proposal of the National Youth Skill Commission entails the following steps:
1. A 6 month skills acquisition training period: During this training period, all corp members are expected to learn at least one skill. The commission is expected to partner with vocational training centres in the country. With an estimate of 50,000 to 100,000 naira per corp member, adequate training is feasible.
2. A 6 month internship period: After the aforementioned training corp members will embark on internship where they will perfect their skill and experience.
Out of the 1 million naira which the federal government claims to have been spending, 50% of that amount could be used to empower the graduates and get them off the streets.
NYSC has fulfilled its initial purpose of existence, we must channel it to the problem of unemployment and nail it once and for all.Read more

Good afternoon,
I hope that this message finds you well. I am starting this petition to hopefully change Robert E. Lee Blvd near Stone Mountain. For some of you that may not know, Robert E. Lee owned and managed slaves for over thirty years. In April 1861 he oversaw two hundred slaves. There is also a New York Times article supporting this. During this time, the slaves could have been freed due to their “owner’s dying wish”, but Robert E. Lee chose to ignore this. He was given a chance to make this right, but he did not. Below are inserts from the infamous letter that Robert E. Lee wrote to his wife in 1856.
“Of all the letters by Lee that have been collected by archivists and historians over the years, one of the most famous was written to his wife in 1856. “In this enlightened age, there are few I believe, but what will acknowledge, that slavery as an institution, is a moral & political evil in any Country,” he wrote.
But he added that slavery was “a greater evil to the white man than to the black race” in the United States, and that the “painful discipline they are undergoing, is necessary for their instruction.”
How can someone believe that a human being needed to be tortured, beaten and hung for their “instruction”? I feel as though this sign and flag is disrespectful to the community and all human beings. To look up and see the confederate flag displaying in the park is extremely disrespectful to the African American race. This is also showing the world that we STILL AGREE with racism and the systematic injustice that we have endured for 400 plus years. How am I supposed to explain to my daughter what this flag represents? I hate to hold the truth from my child, but this is something that can no longer go unheard. As a NATION we have stayed silent for too long. With the removal of this sign I am hopeful that we can change this world into the place that we all know it can be! A place of love and laughs. A place where you can make great memories with friends. And lastly, a place where we are all treated the same. I think we should learn from the United States Marine Corps as they have decided to remove the public displays of the confederate battle flag. I greatly appreciate your time and pray for protection over your loved ones.

The principal of Lynn English High School, Mr. Thomas Strangie has been exposed. As a former Lynn English Alumna, it’s disappointing that someone of his status speaks so badly of people of color. For a city and a school that prides themself of our diversity, it’s our job to make sure whoever is in charge, is rooting for black students of color and non-black students of color instead of being against them. He also has a history of belittling the LBGTQ+ community making it feel unsafe and unheard in their own school.
People of color deserve someone that roots for their success and does not minimize their potential to a stereotype. If we want change we must start from the people who educate us and our children all the way up. Let’s not let the ignorance and injustice continue to spread throughout our school system.
We are encouraging anyone who’s experienced any discrimination from Thomas Strangie to speak up now and spread this petition to get him out of here.
