Forced disappearance in Pakistan originated during the military dictator General Pervez Musharraf (1999 to 2008). The practice continued during subsequent governments. The term missing persons is sometimes used as a euphemism. According to Amina Masood Janjua, a human rights activist and chairperson of Defence of Human Rights Pakistan; a not for profit organization working against enforced disappearance there are more than 5,000 reported cases of enforced disappearance in Pakistan. There are no formal allegations or charges against the persons thus forcefully disappeared.Due to the complete neglect and shamelessly irresponsible attitude of the establishment of Pakistan, this issue has reached a very critical point and the people of Pakistan are now on roads to demand justice and end to this illegal abduction of people by the security agencies. Some families have not seen or heard anything about there loved ones for 22 years now and 2 mothers have died waiting for their sons. It's such a shameful moment for the Pakistani authorities that they haven't been able to take any significant action on this issue for a decade. Also, there is a complete media blackout and no news channel is allowed to broadcast anything about this issue, the families of the affected families are completely hopeless from the judiciary and the democratic institutions of Pakistan as they have been begging on the doors of courts and authorities for more than about 4 years now. In such a situation, there is no way left for people but to take to streets and peacefully protest against this brutal and inhumane aggression of the fellow citizens of this country. The people are protesting outside the house of President Arif Alvi in Karachi for more than 56 hours now but there is no single contact by senior officials yet. Shame on the so-called democratic and reformist government of Imran Khan who has failed to respond to these protestors and banned media to broadcast any news on this issue. Hector* is an asylum seeker in immigration detention. He’s "weeks from death" but remains in Australian detention, despite UN letter compelling Australian Border Force to provide him with urgent medical care and to consider his release.
Hector has been in immigration detention since 2013 and has lost at least 25kg in the past year, dropping from a weight of 70kg.
I have been told that Hector has weeks, not months, to live … he is starving to death.
The dangerous weight loss Hector is experiencing is just one of the symptoms of his illness, but the government seem determined to categorise it as a protest. This is manifestly dangerous and the UN has now asked the Australian government to give my client the urgent medical care he needs to save his life, and to consider release.
Hector is currently psychosocially disabled. To put it plainly, he is starving to death. He requires urgent medical assessment. I have pleaded for him to be listened to while he still had capacity. I am now doing the pleading on his behalf but we have both largely been ignored.
I feel Hector is being let down by the Australian Government, including those from the medical profession involved in this man's "care" and regulatory bodies. Not a single entity with real power has stepped forward to assist him.
Please, sign and share this petition. Hector cannot be left to die in this way. There is still time, but that time is running out.

Petition to Nadhim Zahawi, Department for Education, Robin Walker
PEOPLE IN LEBANON ARE BEING ROBBED FROM THEIR LIVES AND FUTURE.
NORMALLY 1$=1500LL. NOW 1$=10000LL. EVERYTHING IS 10 TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE AND NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR JOBS, IF NOT THEY RECEIVE ¼ OF THEIR SALARY. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE. OVER 1500 FAMILIES ARE HUNGRY AND CAN'T AFFORD THE MINIMUM FOR THEIR CHILDREN. WE DID PROTEST FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT ANY RESULT. WE NEED HELP. WE KEEP HAVING THE SAME GOVERNORS OVER THE YEARS BECAUSE SOME STUPID PEOPLE KEEP ON VOTING FOR THEM FOR THEIR OWN PURPOSES AND SATISFACTION. LEBANON HAS A DEPT OF 100 000 000 000$ THAT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO PAY. TO TOP IT ALL, A LARGE BLAST TOOK PLACE IN BEIRUT TODAY. THE EXPLOSION TOOK SO MANY INNOCENT LIVES AWAY AND SO MANY INJURED POPLE WERE HOSPITALIZED TO THE POINT WHERE OUR HOSPITALS GOT FULL, ALONG WITH COVID-19 PATIENTS KNOWING THAT THE VIRUS' CASES ARE DANGEROUSLY RISING EVERYDAY. WE NEED THOSE PLACES IN HOSPITALS TO CURE PEOPLE FROM THIS PANDEMIC. PEOPLE ARE LOST AND/OR MISSING. THEIR FAMILIES ARE LOOKING FOR THEM EVERYWHERE HOPING TO FIND THEM ALIVE. AGAIN, WE NEED HELP. BEIRUT IS OUR CAPITAL SO THE MAJORITY OF CITIZENS LIVE CLOSE TO THAT EXPLOSION. EVERY GLASS GOT BROKEN AND EVERY HOUSE GOT SHAKEN. THE BLAST EVEN SHAKED CYPRUS WHICH IS 276 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM US. WE HAVE BEEN SUFFERING FOR WAY TOO LONG. IT HAS TO CHANGE. Read more
