Sodexo is one of the largest hospitality companies in the world and provides food service for hundreds of colleges and universities around the country. Sodexo proudly boasts their commitment to sustainability and their recent switch to cage-free shell eggs, but these eggs only account for a small number of the total eggs used in their operations. So then why is Sodexo sourcing liquid eggs from cruel and unsustainable battery-cage farms?
Battery-cage farms cram egg-laying hens into tiny wire cages. With less room than a sheet of computer paper to live in for virtually their entire lives, these poor animals are unable to spread their wings or engage in any of their natural behaviors. This outdated agricultural practice is so cruel that it is already illegal in the entire European Union and several states in the US.
Thankfully, we've also seen lots of movement away from battery-cages in the private sector, too. In the last few years, some of the worlds largest restaurant chains and food service providers—places like Starbucks, Burger King, Delaware North Companies, Ben & Jerry’s, and more—have made commitments to phase out this horrible practice from their supply chain.
However, there is one conspicuous standout from this group, one of the largest food service providers in the world: Sodexo. The Humane League has reached out to Sodexo time and time again, but Sodexo refuses to make any meaningful commitment on this issue, and have fallen behind their competitors on this basic issue of animal cruelty.
Please, sign our petition and let Sodexo know that consumers do not want to be supporting this kind of extreme animal cruelty with their dining dollars. Petition to Aramark
With each cage the size of a filing cabinet drawer, packed with multiple birds, battery cage farms are hell on earth for the innocent hens that lay eggs for Aramark. This outdated agricultural practice is so cruel that it is already illegal in several states in the US and the entire European Union.
Aramark is one of the largest hospitality companies in the world, providing food service for hundreds of universities, hospitals, sports arenas, prisons and more around the country. Unlike its competitors, Sodexo and Delaware North Companies, Aramark remains committed to sourcing eggs from battery cage egg farms—cruel factory farms where hens are trapped in cages barely larger than their bodies.
Earlier this month, after a campaign and Change.org petition from The Humane League, Aramark's competitor, Sodexo, made a commitment to boycott cruel battery cage egg farms. Last year, The Humane League worked with foodservice competitor Delaware North Companies to make the same commitment. Unlike its competitors, Aramark continues to support the cruelest egg farms imaginable.
Please, sign our petition and let Aramark know that people like you do not want to be supporting this kind of extreme animal cruelty with their dining dollars. Turkey has been committing crime after crime among numerous countries. Erdogan is a modern day Hitler and many countries and people have had enough of their attacks.
Morocco, France and Saudi Arabia have already boycotted their products and stopped their trade. Lets get the US to do the same starting with popular clothing companies such as Zara. Boycotting Turkish products will negatively effect Turkeys economy, and so we must act together for the sake of human rights to stop this country from buying more weapons to attack innocent people.
Turkey is associated with ISIS, the extreme terrorist group. Erdogan has terrorists attack groups of people to ethnically cleanse the Caucasus so their goal of “Pan-Turkism” can be succeeded. Pan-Turkism is the goal to unite all Turkic nations and in the way is the Christian nation Armenia. Turkey has become a war proxy in a war between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Turkey is allies with the Azeris and are heavily influencing Azerbaijan to commit countless war crimes. Turkey is also guilty of the 1915 Armenian genocide where 1.5 million Armenians were slaughtered. Turkey has also been oppressing and attacking Kurds and Assyrians within their own lands, and have recently been targeting Cyprus. Stop this horrific country. Read more

We are currently raising awareness and accruing daily public support for government legislation to restrict the sale of paracetamol to children.
NHS figures show the number of children and young people self-harming has risen dramatically in the past 10 years. The number of girls under 18 who have needed hospital treatment after poisoning themselves has risen from 9,741 in 2005-06 to 13,853 – a rise of 42%. Now, more than ever, we feel that the government needs to put preventative measures into place by prohibiting the sale of such a potentially toxic drug to children.
Currently there are no legal guidelines with regard to selling paracetamol to children. We understand some retail outlets have their own specific company policies but unfortunately these policies are almost impossible to enforce. More than one supermarket has informed us that their self service tills, at present, have no warning flag message to alert a member of staff to the age restriction policy and therefore any child can pass through unchallenged. Waitrose supermarket has a policy which enables children from the age of twelve to purchase paracetamol. Should a child be self medicating at twelve? Monitoring their own pain management with a drug, which if used incorrectly, could result in an accidental overdose the consequences of which could be fatal.
As a society, we feel, we have a duty of care to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to ensure the safety of a child or young person, we therefore believe that stores have a moral obligation and responsibility to children. Age restrictions apply to many products deemed unsafe to minors for example; scissors, matches, glue, razors, even chocolate liqueurs require proof of ID yet the sale of paracetamol has no government guidelines thus allowing their legal sale to children of all ages.
Paracetamol is a potent drug which in small doses can cause irreversible organ damage and death. Sadly what many children or in fact adults don't realise, is that after overdosing or self poisoning with paracetamol there are rarely any side effects and would-be suicides and self-harmers may take a handful of pills expecting to drift into a pleasant sleep, only to find that nothing happens. By the next day they may well have changed their minds about killing or poisoning themselves, but it’s too late: the drug, by then, is already doing its best to destroy their liver.By the time they start feeling unwell they may be approaching the end of the (roughly) three-day window in which the antidote, acetylcysteine, can save them. Paracetamol is a hepatotoxin. As it is processed by the body, one of its metabolites starts to destroy the cells of the liver. After three days it's too late, no amount of medical intervention can help and a slow painful death ensues.
With children's mental health cases rising daily, access to means is a major issue in suicide prevention and self poisoning and we believe current government legislation needs an URGENT review and with your help we believe we can make this happen. Read more

You’re local news station is about to be acquired by one large media corporation who has already used their power to force your local news anchors to read corporate written scripts called “must runs”.
This $4 billion dollar deal will allow Sinclair Broadcast Group, which already owns 191 stations, to purchase Tribune Media’s 42 stations. With this purchase Sinclair, with 230-plus TV stations, would have too much national power and will prevent different points of view in local markets.
Sinclair's post-merger reach of 72% reach of U.S. homes is well above the cap that Congress imposed in order to protect viewpoint diversity and localism. A federal mandate prohibits the reach of a single local broadcaster of beyond 39% of U.S. TV homes. But Sinclair is receiving special treatment that will inevitably allow them to control what news and information they want you to see and hear about.

Electric Vehicles (EV) are becoming more affordable with the introduction of the Tesla Model 3, Chevy Bolt, Ford Focus Electric and Nissan Leaf.
The United States Government currently offers up to $7,500 USD income tax credit which is available to all residents. Many states also offer non-cash incentives, such as carpool lane access and free municipal parking.
Japan, India, China, Australia and 22 countries in Europe provide a range of incentives including:
automobile tax reductions
personal income tax deduction
purchase subsidies/rebates
road tax exemptions
free charging outlets
In Canada, incentives are only available at a provincial level in British Columbia and Quebec. Canadians living in other provinces do not have access to incentives of any kind.
EV's not only reduce CO2 and other tailpipe pollutants, but they are significantly quieter than conventional internal combustion engine automobiles. By choosing to drive an EV, you would be helping in the reduction of local air pollution, total greenhouse gas and other emissions.
To make these vehicles even more affordable to every Canadian, we urge the Canadian Government to provide tax rebates and other incentives for those that choose to purchase zero emission vehicles. Please sign and share this petition to make our voices heard.

_________Today, March 22nd, 2021, marks yet another mass shooting event. This occurred in a grocery store in Boulder, Colorado. The assailant used an AR-15 during the attack. While Americans have the rights detailed in the 2nd amendment, continuing to allow civilians access to semi-automatic rifles with such ease poses a grave danger to our society.
Many hunters reading this post may not agree with the idea that we should limit the ability for all civilians to easily obtain semi-automatic rifles, specifically because many states allow the use of them when hunting. However, with enhanced and safer permitting practices, hunters could keep these guns if they feel strongly about their benefits when hunting. It would benefit our society greatly if we modeled some of our gun licensing practices after the U.K, for example: Certain civilians who are deemed as not a danger to society could acquire guns after interviews and review by a government entity. Hunters and other special groups can apply for more dangerous guns, like semi-automatic rifles, and go through the same process. The U.S. House of Representatives, Senate and Executive Branch need to take even the smallest steps and, at a minimum, implement a ban on selling semi-automatic rifles to civilians with no background check or approval processes. In addition, for those who currently own semi-automatic rifles, develop a plan to confirm their permits are active and all relevant protective measures have been performed (interviews, background checks, etc.) For those who are safely using guns, this petition should not challenge your protections under the 2nd amendment. Instead, this will ensure that your responsible use of guns is the one remembered by our society, rather than the use by the assailant who shot your friend’s cousin during his trip to the grocery store.

Everyone must have heard by now this baby formula craze with individuals buying tin after tin of formula and selling it overseas to receive profit etc. Furthermore, groups are forming to collect as many tins as possible despite tins being restricted to 2 tins per person.
This is absolutely ridiculous and makes not just me angry and feel cheated. As a mother I understand the stress, however I've breastfeed both my children and other woman cant have that convient luxury.
Something more needs to happen to ensure the families needing this product are the first in line. Life is stressful enough with newborns and toddlers, parents dont deserve to find their local supermarkets have run out of stock due to greedy people wanting to make a quick dollar.
My suggestion is for customers to start being required to provide birth certificates, medicare cards, health care cards and so on to be given the right to buy formula as proof of proper use. This will hopefully prevent this trade to China happening as much as it is, put families at ease and put a stop to greedy childless customers who dont have the proper intention.
This needs to stop. Please help to make something, anything happen.Read more
