Petition to Shanthi Margoschis Chief Nurse Executive

    Patients over Profits

The Nurses of Kaiser Permanente, San Jose Hospital write to express their dissatisfaction with, and opinion of no confidence in the leadership of Shanthi Margoschis, current CNE of KFH San Jose. This judgment is the result of continuing problems relating to unsafe working conditions, inadequate resources to care for patients, and disregard of professional judgment by licensed nurses in the care of their patients. Nurses have worked for months with inadequate staff to provide breaks and mealtimes during their shifts  Patients and nurses are put at risk due to fatigue and rushing to provide care  Patient falls have increased Hospital units are understaffed by PCTs While Nurses are asked to do more Complaints of Harassment and Bullying by Directors and management have gone uncheck. · The professional judgment of RNs is disregarded in determining the care of patients with special needs All the above issues, and undoubtedly more uncited, have lead to this declaration of no confidence in our leadership. The current atmosphere in the San Jose hospital is a toxic blend of neglect, disregard, and intimidation. The nurses of KFH San Jose believe all the employees and patients of Kaiser deserve better.

Your help is needed to drive fair milk pricing profits back to Aussie dairy farmers

The dairy industry has hit crisis point as a result of soaring operational costs, crippling drought and ongoing challenges to achieve fair milk prices. The retail giants are profiting from milk production to the detriment of dairy farmers, leaving many farmers struggling to feed their stock and keep their farms profitable. Imagine the stress, knowing that the majority of the profit you work so hard and tirelessly is not going back into your business. The economy as a whole suffers when our farms and farmers suffer. Relentless cost-cutting by some of the big supermarket chains will wipe-out the Australian dairy industry unless we do something. If things continue, traditional dairy farms will disappear. The economy of milk production, especially on medium to smaller farms has become unsustainable as this cost-cutting continues to have negative impacts. Did You Know? The number of Australian dairy farms has fallen by almost three quarters since 1979/80 from 21,994 to 5,789 in mid-2017. You can see the impact of unfair farmgate pricing and continually rising operating costs has had on Australian Dairy. Dairy farming is Australia’s 3rd largest rural industry, which generates $3.7b in farmgate production with only a fraction of this going to farmers. In Australia approximately 42,000 people are employed in the Dairy Industry It's up to us to do something if we want to enjoy fresh milk in our fridges! We need to campaign hard against retailers dictating the price of milk. This is difficult and your support, by signing this petition will assist in getting our farmers' voices heard and make Australian dairy farms viable and sustainable for generations to come.  We want to tirelessly lobby consumers, processors, retailers and government to gain recognition for the Australian life blood of the land, our Aussie farmers.  Click Here to Read a heart felt story from a Dairy Farmer's Daughter Click Here to listen to the Alan Jones Interview of a Struggling 4th generation Dairy Farming family in the NSW Southern Highlands. Please sign and share this petition so we can achieve maximum exposure, awareness and the opportunity to drive a change.

    Petition to The Sun Newspaper

.@TheSunNewspaper: Correct the sensationalism in your mental illness story and donate the profits from it

This week Sun Newspaper front page carried the headline: 1200 killed by mental patients. This was a dangerously selective way to lead on the research covered, reinforcing the public perception of the mentally ill as a risk to society. I work as a Psychology teacher, in particular working to develop understanding of mental health issues. I also have a history of long term mental illness in my family. I was therefore horrified to see that the Sun were misrepresenting complex research in such a harmful way, which is why I want to encourage others in responding to these misrepresentations. In reality people with mental illnesses are at greater risk of many forms of violence and assault from general society than those without, as well as having a long history of experiencing abusive treatment from the state.  By focusing on stats relating to acts of violence carried out by the mentally ill the Sun Newspaper are increasing the risk to patients by dehumanising and demonising them. The SPJ code of ethics states that Journalists should: "Make certain that headlines, news teases and promotional material, photos, video, audio, graphics, sound bites and quotations do not misrepresent. They should not oversimplify or highlight incidents out of context.  and ..treat sources, subjects and colleagues as human beings deserving of respect." The Sun need to review the processes by which editorial decisions are taken about this to include a recognition of their responsibility as a big media player towards protecting the safety of the mentally ill. We are calling on them to 1) Recognise that they have acted unethically in misrepresenting information about the mentally ill in this harmful way, and to print a full correction to this effect. 2) Make a donation to mental health charities to cover any profit made from this story and to apologise to those misrepresented

    Petition to Bob Ross Inc.

Boycott Bob Ross Inc. – Help Steve to get profits from sales!

Bob Ross was an iconic American painter and artist – but his family does not own the rights to his name. After Bob Ross died, his son, Steve Ross was stripped of his rightful ownership to his father's legacy. The Netflix documentary "Happy Accidents, Betrayal, and Greed" reveals Ross' relationship with Bob Ross Inc. leaders, Walt and Annette Kowalski. Steve alleges the Kowalski family intentionally stripped the Ross' of ownership to their father's legacy. In the documentary, Steve Ross reveal that he could hear him screaming on his deathbed, “'I’m not giving you my name.' They literally wanted to steal Dad’s name, and did.” We must boycott Bob Ross Inc. because they support the people who took everything away from Steve and the Ross Family. Please watch the Netflix documentary, "Happy Accidents, Betrayal, and Greed" to learn more about this story. #BoycottBRI #BoycottBobRossInc #JusticeforSteveRoss #JusticeforBobandSteveRoss

Stop companies using hidden fees to make unfair profits in foreign exchange

For decades, banks and brokers have overcharged consumers wanting to use their money abroad. Whether for a holiday or to transfer money to friends and family overseas, millions of consumers are being ripped off every year. In 2015 the Government backed TransferWise's campaign to put an end to hidden fees and pledged to stop banks and brokers from using misleading pricing in foreign exchange. We’re closer than ever to making finance fairer for everyone who needs to send money abroad - but we still need your support. We’re calling on you to sign our petition today to tell the Government, regulators and banks that you think hidden fees should be history. Banks and brokers conceal the true cost of transactions by hiding their fees in exchange rate markups. Consumers and SMEs lose over £500,000,000 a year to hidden fees in the UK alone. The system is loaded against consumers. Unaware of the real costs of foreign exchange, and unable to compare the true prices, they are being ripped off. This needs to change. It’s time to stop hidden fees in foreign exchange. You deserve to know what you are paying. International money transfer fees and foreign exchange can and should be transparent. That means: •   For every transaction, a clear breakdown of the cost of the service, upfront. •   Fair exchange rates - the mid-market rate or at least the publication of the difference between the offered rate and the mid-market rate. •   A crackdown on the use of misleading terms such as "free" and "0% commission". Sign our petition today to call upon the Government to deliver their pledge and help us stop hidden fees for good.

    Protect Nature not profits

Chris Packham is a protector of our natural world. Don't allow this petition to stop Chris from speaking out against animal cruelty. Killing animals for pleasure or sport is inhumane and must be STOPPED ... right NOW!!! Chase  or kill each other if they love it so much. Allow the innocent creatures to live in peace. They have the right to be here.  Sacking Chris Packham isn't justified. He's doing a grand job and will be a huge loss to the BBC licence payers. The BBC need to concentrate on what's really important. Like sacking the criminals n their employ.  Freedom of speech isn't a crime . Save Chris Packham!

    Petition to Coca-Cola, James Quincey

Demand Coca-Cola Put People in Front of Profits: Stop Complicity in the Uyghur Genocide

Coca Cola continues to be complicit in The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) genocide against the Uyghur people, now they are sponsoring the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The Olympics will be used by the CCP to spread positive propaganda and distract from the truth that they are committing genocide.  Despite warnings that business in the region puts companies at risk for complicity in the Uyghur genocide, Coca Cola has a bottling facility in Xinjiang, China. This plant is also supplied sugar by COFCO TUNHE, a Chinese company that has allegedly been involved in the coercion of minority groups into forced labor. In addition to their presence in the region and direct or indirect participation in forced labor, Coca-Cola lobbied to weaken the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, (which ultimately passed) meant to prevent importing goods at risk to be made with Uyghur forced labor, such as Coca-Cola products, into the United States.  This is not the first time Coca-Cola prioritized business interests with a genocidal regime over human rights. Coca-Cola collaborated with Hitler during World War II, had production plants in Nazi Germany, and even created the “Fanta” drink specifically for Nazi Germany after producing Coke was no longer possible as a result of the Trading With the Enemy Act of 1917. Coca-Cola was also a sponsor of the 1936 Berlin Summer Olympics, despite boycott attempts of activists around the world.  Coca-Cola has been informed of how their sponsorship of the 2022 Olympics in Beijing makes them complicit in genocide. Still, they proceed. This company has a social responsibility to stop collaborating with oppressors and stand for human rights. It is imperative they do the following:  Pull their sponsorship from the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games. Cease operations in Xinjiang China and with any supplier/partner with known connections to the Chinese government's enslavement and genocide of the Uyghurs.

    Petition to PetSmart

    People Over Profits!

Even with the Covid-19 going around, Petsmart is finding ways to keep their doors open at regular hours. They have found ways to deem their stores as "essential" operations so their doors will not close and hours won't change. As an associate, it is getting harder to practice social distancing and proper quarantine precautions. Unnecessary services such as Grooming, Pets Hotel, Doggy Day Camp, and Dog Training are remaining open which puts employees at risk. Groomers are kept in tight quarters, pet parents sit shoulder to shoulder in training ring, cashiers come into contact with nearly every customer who comes into the store. Parents have flooded the stores with their children and treating our stores as if they are free zoos. Teenagers flock to our store to "hang out" with their friends. Petsmart has done little to nothing to help their employees. We have been using our pet care gloves on register, home brought hand sanitizer, and Virex. Please help us make a change so that employees can stop being exposed to the possibility of contracting the virus. We are made up of fulltime college students, parents, providers to our family, etc... Animals could potentially be at risk and employees are obviously at risk.
