Petition to Celgene , United States Department of Health and Human Services, Bristol-Myers Squibb
Celgene, recently acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb, raised prices on its top selling cancer drug, Revlimid.  Announced January 3rd, the price of a 10 milligram dose of Revlimid will increase by 3.5%, totaling $719.82 per pill. Almost 10 years ago, at the end of 2007, the same pill at the same dosage cost $247.28. Celgene has continued year after year to routinely increase the price of its top selling drug.  Cancer patients require many treatments of Revlimid per year. This price increase means patients will pay over $200,000 to receive cancer treatment that they need to stay alive.  We need to hold Celgene responsible for their actions and bring to light their aggressive price increases. Sign this petition to tell Celgene and Bristol-Myers Squibb that they cannot unjustly raise prices on life saving drugs while needy cancer patients are suffering because they cannot afford treatment. Read more

Petition to ITV, Good Morning Britain
Piers Morgan has been using his network time on Good Morning Britain as a way to convey his backwards, far-right views for years. Public outcry at his statements is at an all time high, not only is there disgust among the public, but also parts of the British media. With his bigotry being broadcast on Twitter as well as on ITV it is only fair the British people only be subjected to this moronic, dare I say near fascist ideological outcry in the bare minimum. Read more

Petition to Oklahoma State House
This petition is in response to the proposal to possibly close the 16 state parks listed below. These are some of the most beautiful places in Oklahoma and future generations deserve to experience them! I've taken my children to many of these state parks and they've provided opportunity for them to learn about nature and explore the world around them. My own personal journey has taught me how valuable it can be to get out into nature and disconnect for a few days. Closing these state parks will take that opportunity away from many people and future generations.   We hope this petition will show our legislators our state parks are important to us. It's important to also contact your local representative and tell them how you feel! Waterfall adventurers wanting to get to the bottom are being viewed as criminals in the City of Hamilton. Hamilton is blessed to have more than 100 waterfalls within the city limits, and gets the well-deserved nickname "Waterfall Capital of the World." Unfortunately, the natural wonders have recently received more visitors than the areas could handle, and rope rescues, especially at Albion Falls and Spencer Gorge became more frequent, and sadly, there were more deaths. The city had a perfect opportunity to adapt to the new conditions, such as adding trails, safe viewing platforms to the top/bottom, and implementing reservation/paid systems to control the crowds, which would raise funds to improve the parks. Instead of doing this, Council restricted access, added “no trespassing” and “keep out” signs, and bylaw waiting to fine you if you’re in a “restricted” area. Just recently, Waterdown falls got littered with “no trespassing” signs where you could once get to the bottom, threatening $10K fines and not even being allowed to take pictures. Will a first-time tourist to the city want to come back after seeing all of this? No matter how many signs or fines you add, people are still going to ignore them. You can’t fix stupid. It’s understandable the city wants to make the attractions safer. But punishing responsible hikers by fining them in places that were once legal to access isn’t the way to go. Restricting access brought down the rope rescues, but came at the cost of the overall experience hiking the areas. Many want to go to the bottom to get more intimate with nature, to feel the mist as the water tumbles to the bottom. This is no longer possible without risking a hefty fine. While this all may seem bad, it’s not too late for Council to improve the falls’ accessibility for future generations. Other cities had similar issues to Hamilton, but solved the problem without fines and restricted access. -St. Catherines is giving free parking passes to locals, and out-of-towners pay for parking. -Alberta is giving both $15 day passes, as well as a $90 annual fee for Kananaskis County, after a surge in vehicles and people. Rather than restricting access, the fees will be reinvested back into the park. Both options would work in Hamilton, and the second option is a no-brainer, as it kills three birds with one stone. The money made from fees will help install viewing platforms and trails faster, it encourages residents to walk/cycle to the falls, and in the event of a rescue, the viewing platforms/stairs will make it safer for firefighters to go to the base. A flash flood alarm should also be installed at waterfalls such as Albion and Chedoke. A waterfall in Quebec City, called "Chutes de la Chaudiere" has one, and there's a staircase that goes to the lower level.  Viewers will also be less likely to put themselves in danger, as the viewing platforms/trails give them safer access to the best views of the falls. Hamilton, as well as the surrounding GTA, is expected to hit 10 million people by 2050, so it's safe to assume the crowds will only rise in the future, especially with social media promoting the attractions. The city has the perfect opportunity right now to find ways to generate revenue to improve the parks, and investing in them so viewers walk away with a positive experience. The COVID-19 pandemic has also shown these natural areas need more attention, as many people relied on them since there was nothing else to do. If we don't demand the city to consider alternative solutions to what they're doing right now, then it's only a matter of time before all the falls have some form of restricted access or bylaw enforcement. Read more

Petition to Doug Ford, Jessica Bell, Chrystia Freeland, Mike Layton
To Our Local MPs & Landlord at 152 Augusta Ave. After 15 years of business serving the Kensington Market community, we have been locked out of our business and issued an eviction notice.  We run an amazing martial arts studio that is home to so many. It is a place where people come to find health, support, community, and family. Inside these walls, people have rebuilt their lives, become champions and leaders in various communities, healed from mental illness, met their spouses, got jobs, gained mentorship, support and love. This eviction notice arrived after being shut down for 7 months due to health orders, and 8 months of trying to convince our landlord to participate in the rent relief program, which he did not. Since the start of the lockdown, we managed to collect our pennies to pay 4 months full rent despite the fact that we were forced closed by the province due to health orders. We did so to protect our staff and students, to show our support and cooperation with our local leaders, to try our best for our landlord. We understand that we are all in this together. When the provincial commercial eviction ban ended, our landlord changed the locks, seized our assets, pushing us to the curb due to an impossible situation that was completely out of our control. While our business is forced closed, his building is for sale.  He has now left us, our family, our staff, and our community in a very vulnerable position, many of whom depend on our gym for their livelihoods. Not to forget, the impact and traffic that our community brings to the streets of Kensington Market. We have been good tenants for years, and invested a significant amount of money in leasehold improvements. We have taken care of his property as if it were our own.   Unfortunately, we are also still waiting for the new federal rent relief program to become available. The new rent relief program will put monetary assistance directly into the hands of the tenants. This support would have saved us from this situation. We have 5 days remaining or we face a permanent loss of our business home at 152 Augusta Ave. We face eviction, at the same time we are not allowed to open our business due to health orders, nor is the new rent relief program in place. But this is not just about us, there are 100s of other small businesses across the country in a similar position, and 100s of people that depend on those businesses. We are writing this petition to request our MPs (The Honourable Mrs. Chrystia Freeland and Mrs. Jessica Bell) for assistance. We need two immediate actions: 1) Extend the commercial eviction ban until the new rent relief program is in place, especially for businesses that have faced a 2nd lockdown. 2) Launch the new rent relief program and make it retroactive to the beginning for tenants whose landlords declined to participate in the first program. Please join us in signing this petition. We know that we are not alone, there are several other small businesses struggling as we are and these measures are the deciding factors between staying open or closing forever. We thank our leaders for their continued work and their belief in small business. We trust they will find ways to help. And we encourage anyone who may find themselves in a position of power, to lend a hand if they can. There are many in need at this time. We thank you for your support, inspiration, and love.  Darwin & Danica MirandaOwners, Krudar Muay Thai152 Augusta AveToronto, ON www.krudar.com        Read more
