Scientists and Medical Doctors overwhelmingly support the evidence that safely executed outdoor activity does not contribute to the transmission of Covid cases and that it helps to improve mental health.
Ontario's closure of outdoor recreational activities (including golf, tennis, rowing, skateboarding, camping, having a picnic and pickleball) to control #COVID19 does not make sense.
Outdoor activities are vital for mental & physical health, especially with stay-at-home orders."

Targeting the real problem areas rather than penalizing the masses is the answer.
We want our safely monitored outdoor activities returned - immediately.
We also understand that self policing is a difficult task however, we also note that heavy fines can and will be implemented should strict rules not be adhered to. We also recognize that the golf industry is taking a heavy hit with the presently implemented guidelines and know that history has demonstrated that both public and private golf course operators that imposed restrictions, were successful in running safe management of golf courses.
We realize this may not have positive optics to the non golfers or non outdoor enthusiast's and we all feel for restaurant operators, small businesses, and other retailers and service industries taking a huge hit and we 100% support all of them. This however is a separate topic. It is about supporting an area of business that can safely operate ( the golf industry) which is huge in Ontario, and keeping the health and well being of millions of Ontarions in mind that want to participate in safely run and monitored outdoor activities.

Also the playing fields access would be greatly reduced to a number of community users. For many years Highams Playing Fields has been a focal point of the community, from children using it as a base for playing games, including "jumpersRead more
