Support fellow Chicago residents, who hope to repurpose a ten-year-vacant, former marble factory into Present Company, a music venue, community arts center, bar and restaurant.
Present Company will require an alderman approved zoning change before it can create upwards of 150 local jobs on its way to becoming a community hub for live entertainment, multicultural events, family and youth programs.
In addition to live music and arts programs, Present Company will include an affordable and approachable bar and restaurant concept.
With your help, Present Company looks forward to adding a unique economic engine to Pulaski Road and becoming good neighbors to our partners in the Hermosa and Logan Square neighborhoods of Chicago.
The project will support:
Job Creation: 150 jobs w/ minimum wage of $15 or more-hiring from community--first postings with community orgs to ensure & help with hiring from community
Affordable Housing: % of ticket sales $$ to be set aside for Community Land Trust for affordable housing
Youth Programming: Opening doors for free after school programing for neighborhood schools, youth groups for music & arts
Music & Arts: They will hire local Spanish language music promoters for culturally relevant programing, community artists, community residents for promotional materials, marketing, murals, etc
Please call Ald. Cardona at (773) 824-2000 and let his office know you support Present Company, a new music venue and community arts center, which will create jobs in and bring a unique experience and affordable, quality food and drink to the Hermosa neighborhood.
It is crucial that you attend this Saturday’s community meeting at noon at 2537 N Pulaski and make your voice heard.

This is a community effort to reactivate LMB (Lower Montauk Branch) of LIRR for NYC Transit fares, local stops from Jamaica to Long Island City.
Queens has a transportation problem that can be solved!
This new transit project – 8.5 miles of track – would connect residents to booming industrial hubs. The QNS is expected to serve 6.6 million passengers annually. A chance like this won't come along very often!
The QNS would cut right through a huge area of the borough where there is no train service – in fact, it would increase the area of Queens served by the subway by 13 percent – and even connect to the M train for greater connectivity to the rest of the subway system.Read more
Lots of people use miiverse as a fun way to communicate with others, but if someone was to post something a little offensive, they'd get banned. That wasn't a problem at first because you could just make a secondary account and continue, not making that same mistake. But now, this is outrageous. Now if you get banned, doesn't matter how, your entire console is banned. What if your little sibling didn't know the rules and get everyone banned? This is why you should support this petition. Everyone was happy before this and everyone now hates miiverse. So if you support this, we have a chance to be happy again. Read more

ProblemWe are not asking for money, we are asking for your support - your electronic signature that you are for this project! We need to show the decision makers (collect signatures) that this project is necessary in Westmoreland County. A County similar to others in the State with serious heroin and opioid addiction, high rate of teen suicide, bullying, the more than 6,800 disabled school aged children, and nearly 8,000 children/youth in the County foster care system. All of whom STAT (the 501c3 that operates the Center) can help in a remarkable, unique way - healing with horses. This petition is solely to gather support for the Ligonier Therapeutic Center's 208' x 120' indoor arena and clinic to serve disabled populations, individuals with mental health challenges, and people who are in addiction recovery. We are in it to change lives! Help us - just sign the petition and share to gather more signatures. Our goal is 2,000.SolutionPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENTIALTHERAPY THAT DRIVES CHANGECLIENT CENTERED.SOLUTION ORIENTED.EVIDENCE DRIVEN.It works! Here at STAT Ligonier Therapeutic Center, we offer: *EAGALA* www.eagala.org *Hippotherapy* www.americanhippotherapyassociation.org *PATH Therapeutic Riding* www.pathintl.orgPersonal storyOur Storyby Cat Markosky, Founder of STAT® Inc. and Owner/Operator of the Ligonier Therapeutic Center - 24 Stom Road, Ligonier, PA 15658My son Mason was born 14 weeks premature. This caused brain injury and irreparable damage to his airway, resulting in Cerebral Palsy and tracheostomy and gastrostomy dependence. Mason wasn’t supposed to live; today, he is 17 :) Mason was on life support in our living room until the age of 2 where I very carefully weaned him from his ventilator. He was extremely delayed in all physical and mental capacities. I felt deeply that the one thing Mason really needed was to experience fun and joy in life, a life that was destined to be cut short. He (We) had far too many hours logged into going to doctors and enduring surgical procedures!By age 3, No matter what we tried, Mason was still unable to sit up or bend at his waist. It was then that I discovered a unique alternative physical therapy treatment called Hippotherapy. (Hippo is Greek for horse; no, we were not signing him up to ride hippopotamuses!)I believed that Hippotherapy would fulfill two of my wishes for Mason: 1) to experience joy in life and 2) to find a way to motivate him to tolerate therapy... I found that Hippotherapy is the MOST AMAZING AND EFFECTIVE therapy I had ever witnessed. As difficult as the first 10 sessions, Mason thoroughly enjoyed his next 14, learning that riding was meant to be FUN! and upon returning home after that 24th session, I placed Mason on the floor of our living room where he SAT UP INDEPENDENTLY! There is NO OTHER therapy that could have produced this outcome for my son. It was a miracle!By age 5 Mason was walking with the assist of a walker and at the end of his 7th year, he took his first independent steps. TRULY REMARKABLE!Mason is my hero. He is the hero for many who have come to know him here at the Ligonier Therapeutic Center. I mean, who knew an old horse named Rusty would become Mason’s most effectual therapist?!It's hard to be a good parent. But parents raising children with special medical needs or raising a child with severe behavioral needs such as Autism - we are on constant alert, truly 24/7. The Ligonier Therapteutic Center was built to offer families a peaceful place, a non-judgmental atmosphere, a low stress, healing environment. Today, I am an EAGALA Certified Equine Specialist, working with all ages and levels of mental health challenges. I work alongside other Equine Specialists and Mental Heath Practitioners to offer the best of physical and mental health and wellness in Ligonier and across Westmoreland County, PA.Let's change lives together. Help me, help us! Support this project and let us build a Center for Healing.www.statinc.orgRead more
