Karla Leanne Homolka (born May 4, 1970), also known as Karla Leanne Teale and Leanne Bordelais, is a Canadian serial killer who, with her first husband Paul Bernardo, brutally raped, tortured, mutilated, and murdered 3 girls, one being her own sister.
She struck a deal with prosecutors for a reduced prison sentence of 12 years in exchange for a guilty plea for manslaughter. Following her release from prison, she settled in the province of Quebec, where she married again and gave birth to a boy. In 2007, she changed her name to Leanne Teale. In 2012, Homolka was living in Guadeloupe, under the name Leanne Bordelais, with her husband and their three children
Why is she not on the sex offenders registry? This is not right. The things her and her husband did to those poor girls while they were still alive are deplorable, only to hack them up and dry them in cement to throw in a lake.
I don't believe in capitol punishment but in situations like these where the direct evidence is substantial, I would of at least ordered a hysterectomy. Recent events show that Karla has been volunteering at a children's school. The school stated they didn't see a problem with it because she was not on the Sex Offenders Registry. As a nation we need to change this.
Under the Sex Offenders Act 1997, as amended by the Sexual Offences Act 2003, all convicted sex offenders must register with the police within three days of their conviction or release from prison. This is monitored by the police, who receive notification from the courts following conviction, and both the prisons and probation service following an offender's release into the community. Failure to register is an offence which can carry a term of imprisonment.
Those given a jail sentence of more than 30 months for sexual offending are SUPPOSED to placed on the register indefinitely.
So WTF Canada?? If we cant put her back in prison, then lets get this monster registered so schools, parents, and neighbors keep their children safe.
