We as residents and taxpayers of Mangaung say NO!
The salary bill provides for: A R3,09 million salary package for the municipal manager R2,743 million for the chief of Finance. Between R2,5 million and R3,09 million for the heads of departments. R1,604 milion and R1,305 million for the mayor and speaker. A further R1,232 million for the chief whip and R1,35 million for the deputy mayor.
With 2 months left, only 30% of the capital budget had been spent. This is for new infrastructure, plant, fleet and programmes.
We say NO to:
- an absent city manager
-proposed increases to tariffs and massive top salaries.
-massive wasteful and irregular expenditure
-massively overpriced procurement of goods and services
-non compliance to Supply Chain Management policies
-poor governance
-bad service delivery
-unrealistic copy and paste budgets including billions in revenue that will never be collected and capital projects that will never be completed
-the late payment of critical service providers
-slow reaction to water leaks, sewage blockages and burst pipesr
-repeated non removal of refuse for weeks
-heads of departments that don't answer their phones
The proposed increases for rates are:
Property rates 4,9%, sanitation between 8.3 and 8,6%, refuse removal between 7,01 and 9,2%.
We say YES to a new DA led government in 2021 elections. We say YES to transparent, responsive and small government that delivers basic services and creates an enabling environment for business enterprises to thrive and create jobs
