Petition to Tesco
Tesco: Stop cruelty to farmed chickens
Around one billion chickens are slaughtered for meat each year in the UK. The vast majority are kept in poor conditions. They are made to grow so fast that they can suffer heart attacks and many have leg problems from struggling to carry their own weight. This is why I’m calling on the UK’s biggest supermarket Tesco to sign up to the Better Chicken Commitment. Five years ago I took part in a campaign to improve welfare for meat chickens - also known as broiler chickens - but nothing has changed. They don’t even have enough space to do what is natural to them like flap their wings properly and move around freely. This isn’t a fair way to treat an intelligent creature that feels pain and has emotions. The RSPCA and other animal protection groups across Europe are asking food businesses to put into practice a new set of standards called the Better Chicken Commitment which will improve life for billions of chickens, by setting higher standards for things like space, natural light and more humane methods of slaughter. Tesco is the UK's largest retailer and their spend on intensive indoor chicken meat is more than Asda and Morrisons combined. A change in policy by Tesco would have the biggest impact on the lives of broiler chickens - over 380 million animals would benefit every year! Please sign my petition to help improve the lives of billions of chickens.

Petition to City of Ellisville Mississippi
change their animal holding facility
These dogs are kept in unsanitary, rusty kennels in a cinder block building that has no air conditioner and very little ventilation. The residents of Ellisville Ms have been in the dark about this place for many years. The building sits in a parking lot of the local community collage. It does not have a sign saying it is animal control, there is no address and no phone number. They hold animals for 5 days and then euthanize.

HOLDING POLICE ACCOUNTABLE FOR HOMICIDE!!! #JUSTICEFORKRIS
Look closely at his face...this is what police brutality looks like. Four Escambia county Florida police officers did this to my nephew while he was in handcuffs , then claimed he assaulted three of them. Had he not wanted just to go home after spending several months in jail, the charges would have been dropped. But he wanted out so he took probation, then came back to Texas to be with his family. That resulted in a probation violation and a warrant for his arrest. It was that warrant that brought the Denton County Sheriffs Officers out to where he was staying. And when he tried to run, they killed him in cold blood, shooting him square in the middle of the upper back. A kill shot. They could have easily tased him and stopped him but used deadly force instead. When police officers kill, should they judge themselves? Of course not because this would be a conflict of interest. Yet that is exactly what is happening in Denton County, Texas and across the nation. Citizens are losing faith in law enforcement and the judicial system. More and more families are being left in the dark and seeking truth when their loved ones are killed at the hands of police officers and those officers are never held accountable. They are never held accountable because they are investigating themselves. Across the nation, police agencies are involved in conspiracies to conceal evidence, committing perjury, and and are involved in ongoing coverups. This is exactly what DCSO did in the case of my nephew, Kristopher Scott Adams. On September 16, 2019, one unknown DCSO officer fatally shot Kris in the middle of the upper back as he attempted to flee. They, along with Sheriff Murphree and Ken Paxton, the Attorney General, have continued to deny and ignore the family's numerous attempts and requests to view the body cam video from the shooting. Every family has the right to the truth. And we have waited 5 long painful months. We are demanding that the DCSO release the body cam video, at least to the family, immediately. Why wouldnt they release it immediately if there was no wrong doing and if they claim the shooting was justified? I cannot accept that shooting someone in the back is EVER justified! We DEMAND that the Denton County Sheriffs Office release the body cam video from the shooting on Sept. 16, 2019 involving Kristopher Adams. The family wants answers and deserves to know the truth about what happened. The attorney general of Texas needs to order the DCSO to release the body cam video because it is public information. Please sign the petition so we can finally get JUSTICE FOR KRIS!!!!! And for each person losing their life every day at the hands of the very people who have sworn an oath to protect them.

Stop holding the Yulin dog meat & lychee festival in Yulin, (Guangxi) China.
This video was taken by an animal rights activist personally as evidence at the yulin dog meat and lychee festival in yulin china. This "festival" is an event that starts on June 21st of every year during the summer solstice and it lasts for 10 long horrifying days in which 10,000–15,000 dogs (as well as cats) are tortured and then consumed. However, it is estimated 25 million dogs are stolen, sold, bought, and eaten every year with the illegal dog and cat meat trade. A larger percentage of these dogs consist of pets stolen right from their loving families. The rest of the dogs are captured strays from the streets and some are even pets that are no longer wanted by their owners who sell them to butchers. After these animals are stolen, bought, or captured they are then transported for days without any food or water, crammed in tiny cages together so tightly that they are unable to even move. At the yulin festival, throughout those days, these animals will be hung, burned, skinned, boiled, torched, dismembered, electrocuted and beaten...ALIVE..out in the streets for public view. But If that isn't bad enough, they intentionally torture these animals in front of the other animals in order to create even more stress and fear. The belief behind the torturing and slaughtering them while still ALIVE, is because the people of yulin believe the more adrenaline and fear that runs through the blood, the more tender and better tasting the meat will be. Why do they eat dog meat? Because they believe that if you eat dog meat it gives the men more sexual stamina, it will keep them cool during the summer's heat and it will ward off evil spirits. China's tradition of eating dog meat has been around for over 400 years. However, it wasn't until 2009 when the festival in Yulin began by dog meat traders in order to boost business. Animal welfare activists have been trying for years to get this horrible event banned. But the government of yulin continue to look the other way, saying there is nothing they can do insisting it doesn't even exist. We are a generation that realizes that is it 2018 and the common sense to know that these acts are immoral and inhumane. This is treatment inflicted on a species that provides so many benefits to humans. They are police officers, service dogs, emotional support for abused children, a child's best friend and childhood memories. They ARE OUR best friends. They never asked to be born and they certainly do not deserve this type of treatment. Individuals from every country all over the world are against it. There are more and more people worldwide boycotting chinese manufactured products unless the festival is banned. This petition is to try to convince the Yulin's People's Government and Guangxi's Autonomous Region's People 's Congress Standing Committee that it would be in their's and china's better interest to ban this barbaric festival.

Petition to Juan Sanchez
Taxpayers deserve to know how their money is spent on child detention centers
It was only four months into my job at a shelter for child migrants that I decided to quit. Three siblings had just arrived to the center after being separated from their parents at the border and mistakenly understood from another care worker that their parents were dead. The children were understandably distraught, but my manager told me I needed to separate them. “They can’t hug,” he said. This was at a shelter run by Southwest Key, a nonprofit which received $458 million in funding from our government to safely house and care for migrant children. Join me in demanding that CEO Juan Sanchez testify before Congress about how the organization uses government funds. Children in Southwest facilities have had crucial healthcare delayed, and been repeatedly belittled by staff members. When we put the kids to bed each night, crying echoed through each room. The CEO Juan Sanchez is paid $1.5 million a year, one of the highest salaries for a nonprofit of this size while staff members receive $15 an hour and are mostly contractors and seasonal workers without benefits. Yet somehow, Sanchez had the audacity to come to the shelter I worked at asking employees to donate a portion of our pay to a medical fund for the children – for services he apparently refused to pay for. Juan Sanchez sees the kids in his care as dollar signs, not traumatized children. Southwest houses ten of thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children each year, with millions and millions of taxpayer dollars. That’s an enormous responsibility, once which the organization is failing at. It’s time Southwest Key was held accountable for its actions. Sign to demand that Juan Sanchez answer these concerns before Congress.

Holding Indonesian and Malaysian governments accountable for the current forest fires/haze
The Indonesian and Malaysian Forests are burning!(Terjemahan dalam Bahasa Indonesia adalah di bawah)Over the past 20 years, there has been an ongoing yearly occurrence of haze in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, caused by the burning of forests predominantly in Indonesia by plantation companies. Haze in this region have contributed to deaths and illnesses of citizens. The forest fires have caused environmental degradation and the displacement and deaths of critically endangered wildlife such as the Orang Utan.As this has occurred every year for over the last 2 decades, the people of Indonesia and Malaysia have become desensitised to this issue while also not having the proper channels to voice their displeasure over the situation. This is one avenue we can make a change together. By gathering enough signatures, we will present this petition to the government of Indonesia and Malaysia to demand that responsible action be taken. It is the responsibility of both the Indonesian and Malaysian government to prioritise its citizens instead of defending billion dollar corporations that have held no accountability for committing crimes against the people and the environment. To Malaysian Ministers : Malaysian Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change : YB Yeo Bee YinMalaysian Primary Industries Minister : YB Teresa KokMinister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry : Dato' Haji Salahuddin bin AyubMalaysian Prime Minister : Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad To Indonesian Ministers :Indonesian President : Joko Widodo Indonesian Environment Forestry Minister : Siti Nurbaya BakarIndonesian Minister of Agriculture : Amran Sulaiman By signing this petition, we demand to hold the Indonesian and Malaysian government accountable for their actions, or inactions, in response to the yearly haze crisis and environmental crisis which have plagued Indonesia and Malaysia for over 20 years, caused by irresponsible land clearing practices by plantation owners, big and small, who conduct open burning of the forests in Indonesia and Malaysia. By signing this petition, we demand that this issue be included in the next General Elections manifesto, that the Indonesian and Malaysian governments respectively be held responsible in dealing with the haze crisis due to forest fires in Indonesia and Malaysia caused by open burning to clear land for plantations. This petition demands that : 1. The Malaysian government conduct a thorough open investigation on the 4 companies that have been accused by the Indonesian Environment Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar of deliberately carrying out open burning to clear land for palm oil plantations, and that the investigation be made public. If these companies are liable, we demand stern action towards these companies. The 4 companies cited by the minister that are involved in open burning of land for palm oil plantations :- Sime Darby Plantation- IOI Corporation- TDM Bhd- Kuala Lumpur Kepong Group 2. The Indonesian and Malaysian government investigate and publicly list all 29 companies and its directors who are involved in the open burning of forests to clear land for plantations that have caused the haze and environmental crisis, and conduct enforcements to bring these companies to justice. Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar has also named the Singapore-affiliated company Hutan Ketapang Industri, a West Kalimantan province-based rubber plantation subsidiary of another Indonesian company Sungai Menang, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Indonesia's Sampoerna Agro. Singapore-based Sampoerna Agri Resources Pte Ltd owns two-thirds of Sampoerna Agro.Sampoerna Agro was founded by the family of Indonesian billionaire Putera Sampoerna. By signing this petition, we demand that enforcement is done to list all 29 companies and its directors and that stern legal action is taken on those responsible. 3. A joint investigation between the Indonesian and Malaysian government is done to publicly list the causes of the forest fires for land clearing in Kalimantan, Sumatera and Sarawak as of September 2019, listing the reasons the lands being cleared for. 4. The Indonesian and Malaysian government jointly agree to enact and enforce laws in both countries regarding the open burning "slash and burn" practice to clear land for plantation, and for this practice to be permanently banned, which are to be strictly enforced with penalties and fines that are adjusted annually in accordance with inflation. 5. The Indonesian and Malaysian government agree to immediately enact and enforce that the practice to clear land for plantation be done in sustainable ways which does not damage the environment, in line with current international guidelines for sustainable plantation practices. 6. The Indonesian and Malaysian government agrees and pledges to enact and enforce laws that no more Forest Reserve Land are to be cleared for plantation. 7. By signing this petition, we demand that all points above are explained through public means by the following ministers addressed above. 8. The Indonesian and Malaysian governments will take serious steps in committing and meeting its carbon emission targets, as yearly forest fires caused by plantation companies severely damages the global environment and the government's carbon emission reduction targets. The Indonesian and Malaysian government hold a moral obligation and responsibility to its people, its land and to the world. We demand here that there be no yearly haze problems in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore due to open forest burnings by plantation companies moving forward. Holding Fernley High School accountable
For many years students at Fernley High School have been ignored when they have gone to administrators about bullying, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and many other things. They have been ignored whether it be other students doing these things or even teachers. Many students moved because of these situations and even sat in fear while being at school. It’s time to make a change so future generations don’t have to deal with these same issues!
