Hassan, came to Australia as a student last year. He was diagnosed with advanced skin cancer in April. He received treatment at Peter Mac Cancer Institute but is now sadly in palliative care!
His oncologist Peter at MacCallum Cancer Centre wrote a letter of support for his family coming over, saying treatment had finished and he will soon enter the “terminal phase”.
Hassan is now receiving palliative care at a Melbourne City Mission refuge and his condition is worsening by the day.
Hassan is desperate to be with his mother, but her application for visitor visas have been rejected by the Immigration Department.
The Australian High Commission in Islamabad rejected her last bid last week, saying they were not "satisfied she had an economic incentive to return home after the trip" - even though Hassan’s and other family members are staying in Pakistan.
The Minister for Immigration, Peter Dutton can make a ministerial call and allow his mother to be with him. Minister for Immigration, please don't let Hassan die alone.
