    Petition to HPCSA

Challenge the HPCSA's exorbitant annual fee increase

The Health Professions Council of South Africa has raised its annual registration fees for medical practitioners by 13% again this year. In 2021, fees were raised by 15%. This amounts to a more than 30% fee increase in 2 years. In 2021, only medical practitioners were subjected to this exorbitant raise despite the devastating economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, which did not spare healthcare workers. It is unjustifiable to raise the registration fees by this amount once again, as doctors across the country struggle for weeks and months to obtain documentation from the HPCSA. Calls and emails go unanswered for weeks. HPCSA services are becoming increasingly automated, and more employees are working from home. Surely this amounts to a DECREASE in running costs and should amount to a drop in registration fees. With this petition we ask the HPCSA to waive its fee increase for 2022/2023 registrations.

Petition to BC Salmon Farmers Association, Meghan Charles

I Challenge BC Salmon Farmers to Debate Their Disease Problem

I think that farm salmon in BC have a serious disease problem that has put wild salmon at risk. The salmon farmers disagree and call my science "false," So I am challenging this industry to a public debate on the impact of piscine reovirus from farm salmon on Pacific salmon to settle this question before the virus spreads any further. Something is killing large numbers of BC wild salmon.  Whales are starving, communities suffering, First Nations are going without their most important food resource.  As a result of 30 years of research, I think farm salmon disease is taking an unsustainable toll on wild salmon populations.  When we turn off the pathogen leakage from salmon farms, the evidence suggests wild salmon will rebound to everyone's benefit. This is why, as a scientist, I am challenging the salmon farmers to this debate. They say they don't have a problem, I think they have a big problem. It is time to get it out in the open where people can make up their own minds.

Petition to TUI, UK Parliament, ABTA, ATOL , BBC

    Challenge Tui

As many of you are aware that tui have cancelled and customers cancelled their own hoildays during this pandemic which is understandable.  However what isnt understandable is why they are keeping our money when a refund has been requested.  Times are strained and and false promises from tui for a 3-5 day refund which never arrives even weeks after cancellation is giving people alot more hardship both financially and mentally in an already worrying time.  We need to make a stand collectively and we need tui to understand that they cannot keep our money.  No communication from the company,  no real  help at all from the staff once you do get through.  This is effecting thousands of people and it shouldnt be allowed.   WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK

Challenge to the BIR: File a Criminal Case Against Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

Atty. Caesar DulayCommissionerBureau of Internal RevenueBIR National Office BuildingAgham Road, Diliman, Quezon City Dear Commissioner Dulay: We, Filipino taxpayers, demand that the BIR collect the PhP203.819 Billion estate tax that the heirs of the late Ferdinand Marcos owe the Philippine government.  We believe the FACTS are clear and straightforward: You sent a letter to Aksyon Demokratiko dated March14, 2022  confirming that the BIR sent a written demand letter to the Marcos family on December 2, 2021 to pay their estate tax liability of PhP203.819 billion. We also know that the PCGG, in a letter addressed to Aksyon Demokratiko dated March 11, 2022, signed by Chairman John Agbayani and Commissioners Raymond Dilag and Rhoderick Parayno, stated that the BIR executed its final assessment on the Marcos properties as early as 1993 and that the Supreme Court decision on this unpaid tax became “final and executory” in 1997. We can only conclude that the statement of the Marcos family that their estate tax liabilities are yet to be finalized is nothing but a brazen lie and that they have no intention of paying  this tax.  Their sense of entitlement, of being above the law, is reprehensible. The Filipino people are suffering great deprivation at this time, when fuel prices have skyrocketed and the cost of transportation, food and basic goods and services has increased  tremendously.   Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez has publicly stated that the ayuda being given to the poorest of the poor of PHP200.00 per day for one year is not enough.  It is not clear whether the subsidies allocated to the transport and agricultural sectors, among the hardest hit by inflation, are funded.  The Dept.of Labor and Employment is also asking for a subsidy of PhP24 billion  for minimum wage workers. The government no longer has funds for this.    Think about what PhP203.819 billion from the Marcoses can do to help the Filipinos who are struggling to keep body and soul together!   This is not the time to just send demand letters to a family that has flouted the law for 25 years. Now is the time for the BIR to act decisively and file a criminal case and  prosecute  Bongbong Marcos, as co-administrator of the Marcos estate, for failure to settle the family’s tax liability.  The law provides for it.  It can be done.  Just show political will and prove that there is justice in this country.    Alliance of Women for Action Towards Reform (AWARE)   Solita C.
