I, like so many others in the United States suffer everyday with a chronic medical condition.
I, like so many others in the United States have been denied the most effective treatment for my condition due to being of “child bearing age”, despite not wanting children or being pregnant. As someone who does not want to become pregnant and is not currently pregnant, I was devastated when I was denied medical care because the most effective treatments could cause birth defects if I were to become pregnant while taking the medication. I contimplated ending my own suffering in that moment. I was outraged and went to social media to vent. My outrage turned from the doctor who denied me care to our current legislation and medical system that is failing us once I saw the millions of others who have also been denied necessary care because they have a uterus and are of a certain age.

THIS IS KILLING PEOPLE.
As a living, breathing human being who exists, I feel it is absurd that doctors who are expected to provide the best, most effective care and treatments to their patients are able to deny effective treatments due to the potential for birth defects in patients of child bearing age who are not currently pregnant without disciplinary action.
Legislation needs to be put in place to reprimand any physician or insurance company that chooses to prioritize a hypothetical life that does not exist over the well being of a suffering human being who actually EXISTS.
Doctors and insurance providers are pushing their own personal agendas on suffering people who are in need of treatment.
WE MUST PRIORITIZE THE PERSON WHO ACTUALLY EXISTS! PERIOD. I, like so many others, do not want children. That is my right as a citizen of the United States of America. As someone who suffers from a genetic disorder, I have the right to choose to not pass this condition and the suffering that goes along with it onto a child.
Refusal to treat a patient with the most effective treatment simply because the patient could physically become pregnant in the future is discriminatory.
In the past, doctors, pharmacists, and medical volunteers could not deny care or provide negligent medical care to any patient based on sex, race, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or age. With the renewed federal legislation regarding Conscience Clauses - doctors, pharmacists, and medical volunteers are federally protected and are within their rights to deny any person any medical care based on their own personal beliefs, religious beliefs, or morals. This leaves so much room for discrimination. Worst of all - none of these physicians are required to inform their patients or potential patients of any treatments, procedures, or medications that they object to. We do not have informed consent to our health care without access to that information.
Physicians and insurance companies are pushing their own personal agendas and beliefs onto suffering patients who are paying for their care.
Conscience clauses are allowing doctors to deny care to patients in need based on their personal convictions. This is unconstitutional, it is against the ADA, and is discriminatory.
As long as Conscience clauses are intact, Doctors should be required to publicly inform all patients and potential patients of any/all moral or religious objections to procedures or care. Without this information, patients do not have informed consent when it comes to their health care.

the problem i want to resolve is the matter of self defense and the defense of ones home and property from home invasion and criminal elements, in other words, to stop the RCMP and the canadian government from protecting criminals and to not charge anyone for hurting, hospitalizing and or even killing a criminal as a result of being caught in the act of committing a crime on private property, or during a home invasion, in several cases a homeowner has been charged for killing or injuring a criminal and even in some cases ben sued or charged for a criminal injuring themselves on private property, if a criminal is in the process of committing for example a home invasion then the homeowner has the right to use whatever weapon or force they feel like to deal with the criminal without criminal charges being laid by any branch of the government or police services, the home owner has the right to do whatever he or she sees fit to protect home and property, and not incentivizing criminals to commit crimes against actual victims because the victim is not allowed or is afraid to retaliate because of fear of legal charges later, thereby making the criminal too afraid to commit the crime in the first place.Read more

I was a fully active, productive member of society living the American dream. Owning and running my own successful business for nearly 12 years until 2007 when it all went horribly, horribly wrong.
At a job site for a client, severe structural deficiencies of the building caused a part of the building I was working on to collapse, on me, knocking me unconscious and leaving me severely injured with multiple fractured spinal discs, injuries to my neck, hands, arms and a concussion. As well as an impaled back, leaving me with permanent physical and mental impairments.
I was unfortunately again injured in an accident in 2012 when I was hit by a texting driver at 40 mph. I spent my entire life savings and nearly lost everything paying medical bills and costs not covered by my insurance or by the severely underinsured client or driver.
Molina Healthcare of Utah has been my primary insurance for treatment before and since the accidents. I have already had 7 surgeries to my hands, arms and fingers to restore some mobility and coordinated use. And I expect to have at least 5 more surgeries, including a spinal fusion and a neck fusion. Molina of Utah has continuously not only denied covering the crucial pain medication I need just to semi function as a human being (such things as simple as walking myself to the bathroom), but they have denied crucial scans of my spine and neck needed to move forward with surgery options for over 3 years now. 3 years of continued degradation, worsening injuries and a total collapse of my mobility and function in everyday life. Injuries that could have been slowed or even possibly prevented had I had the proper scans and tests in time.
Multiple doctors, surgeons and MDs have all concluded these scans are not only crucial to moving forward with surgery, but crucial to my injuries not continuing to get substantially worse, as they already have now. My doctors have appealed Molina's denials in writing, on my behalf no less than a dozen times in total. We have completed every single thing Molina asked of us at each denial and yet Molina continues to deny me these absolutely life vital scans and tests.
I have lost total feeling in my arms, hands, shoulders and I am now losing all feeling in my left leg and have to walk with a cane at 39 years old because Molina won't cover these tests. I have exhausted my entire life savings to get to this point and have become so depressed, I have contemplated suicide multiple times now.
I am asking, in fact begging you, to please sign my petition and demand with me that Molina act with grace, humanity and ethically: "STOP DENYING AUTHORIZATION AND PAYMENT FOR MY MEDICALLY NECESSARY SCANS, TESTS AND MEDICATIONS”.
I am living with the results of two accidents caused by other people's negligence. And I am just trying to survive without losing all mobility before my 40th birthday.

The undersigned, concerned citizens of the State of California, respectfully request that the California Department of Public Health and Governor Gavin Newsom immediately rescind the mandate requiring students to wear masks. Healthy adults and children should not be forced - by the state or school district - to wear masks when the risk of infection is low and the benefit of wearingi a mask is highly questionable. We request that the wearing of masks also be made optional by the school district. Everyone has the right to voluntarily wear a mask, but forcing someone to wear a mask is an infringement on personal liberty.
If/When EXPOSURE occurs, parents should be notified and the OPTION to keep their child home should be presented but NOT required.
Wearing masks for long periods of times are causes of headaches/migraines and lack of focus in some of our students.
Wearing a mask for long periods of time ensures that the wearer has a warm and moist receptacle around his or her mouth, on which viruses and bacteria can land and accumulate.
The N95 masks are the only masks that are actually effective at containing the virus, and the school district is not requiring N95 masks. Evidence has shown that homemade and cloth masks aren't effective and actually cause you to touch your face more than you would without the mask.
Our students should begin the process of returning to normality.
Therefore, WE the undersigned, petition the California Department of Public Health and Governor Gavin Newsom to take a firm stance against mandatory face masks, striking down all policies mandating students to wear face masks.Read more

SLPAs and interns are very competent and should be allowed to provide services to children and adults who are in need of the services immediately. Instagram is rolling out a trial run in some areas that will prevent users from being able to share feed posts to their stories. This is a terrible "update". So many instagram users utilize this feature to share ideas, art, social issues, petitions, to raise awareness for causes, to promote small businesses, to educate their following, SO MANY THINGS. I am an artist and one reasons that this update worries me so much is the fact that people will not stop sharing art to their stories, they will just screenshot it instead. The share to stories button automatically links back to the artist who created the piece and gives them credit for their work. With this feature gone artists will see a lot more intellectual property violations and will further have to watermark it to make sure they're getting credit for their work. I also make a lot of art about social issues and important events. The share to story feature allows people to share that piece to their story to spread the message, and I often share posts by other creators to spread that education my followers on something that I haven't talked about on my feed. Not to mention it will greatly impact being able to grow on the platform since story shares are the best way to do so right now, which would impact many small businesses who rely on instagram to feed their families in the middle of a pandemic. This update will effect all instagram users, and it will prevent a lot of important information from getting spread which is way more important then someone being a little annoyed because they saw the same post twice in one day. Please instagram, think about the educators, artists, activists and small business owners who use your platform and do not remove this feature. Read more
