Give me my dog back

The Issue

Humane or Inhumane

It was an awful turn of events when I discovered that my baby girl was stolen. On Monday September 17, 2012 as I have done so many nights before: I get off from work and after an hour drive I am home to be greeted by the sound of my frisky and vibrant 6 1/2 month old female Shih Tzu. I know she is happy to see daddy as I am happy to see her. I feed her and take her out side to “potty,” on some rare occasion I tie her out and come back in, this day was no different so as I tied her out I went to get dinner, as I came out to bring Zoey back in to my surprise she didn’t greet me around the house as she would and sit to wait until I unleash her. She’s gone-someone has taken my baby! Not having any children Zoey was my little girl. This was the beginning of a nightmare that would not end.
I cried all night until finally I cried myself to sleep. The next morning as I prepare for work I began calling all the groomers and vets in town including the Springfield Humane Society. As the day progress and still not a sign of Zoey, finally a lead and the light at the end of the tunnel became clear-Zoey was found and was taking to the Humane Society. As I listened to the voice message I could not help but cry. Zoey would have to stay the night due to the humane society closure at 5pm; this didn’t bother me since I knew where she was. Early Wednesday afternoon three days since my baby has been stolen I arrive to pick her up and my happiness was turned into anger. I was told that I could not take my baby home until I signed some papers, papers that I had no idea I would have to sign. I was so excited to see my baby and she excited to see her daddy I would not let her go and was told that the sheriff would be called on me if I didn’t let her go and sign the papers. I complied anything to get her out of that place. Now I was hit with a big ticket that I couldn’t pay to take her home. Things such as: shots which she already, license, and boarding fees were charged against me, fees that grow by $13 each day thereafter if I didn’t take her home.
A single man college graduate, with an entry level job I could not pay the $157 that ultimately ended up being $200. On Thursday September 19, 2012 I called the humane society and ask if I could have a payment arrangement- I just wanted my baby home. I was told no! and that the following day at 4:30pm she would be put up for adoption. I neglected a bill to get my baby out of that place that I knew she didn’t want to be. This day the humane society closes early. Monday September 24, 2012, I called the humane society to tell them just how upset I was with these proceeding just to discover that Zoey has been shipped off to some rescue home and I was not giving any information as to where.
The humane society is anything but humane; their purpose is to provide homes for the dogs that are strays and unwanted from previous owner. Zoey was neither and because of some malicious act of this organization I am displaced from my love one, my family and friend. She was spoiled as most dog lovers do with their babies. Zoey was well taken care of and didn’t have any disease or harm done to her until she was taken by a good Samaritan to a place that showed her a side that she would never she had she been given back to me. I just want my baby back. Please help!!!!!
