Whereas, we the people of Rutherford County deem it appropriate to engage the elected Sheriff Robert Arnold and his department in a Town Hall in response to issues raised by the viral YouTube video, “4th of July DUI Checkpoint – Drug Dogs, Searched Without Consent, While Innocent," be it resolved that:

“WE THE PEOPLE of Rutherford County, Tennessee do hereby call on Sheriff Robert Arnold to participate in an open Town Hall forum in which the residents of Rutherford County may petetion the elected peace officer for a redress of grievences by authority of the 1st Amerndment to the United States Constitution. Said open forum Town Hall is to be scheduled without delay at a time and place which ensures the most opportunity for participation by all residents of Rutherford County. Said open forum Town Hall is expected to be an open mic event in which the 1st Amendment is to be firmly upheld for each individual speaker and retaliation by employees of any office in government for any free speech of a Rutherford County resident will not be tolerated.
