SwapNote is a brilliant feature for the 3DS, allowing people to send 3D messages, picures, and drawings to friends that they willingly added and they added back using the 3DS friend code system. This feature was shut down because some children willingly added people they found online who were not their friends and got innappropriate messages. They could have simply removed that "friend" and deleted the innappropriate note, but this issue has escalated to the point where Nintendo felt the need to remove the feature completely. This move has hurt the majority of users that used the software appropriately and enjoyed the use of the messaging service. While Nintendo feels the move was justified, this opinion is not shared by a good number of those who had enjoyed the service and want to continue sending notes to friends that live far away.
